Nice attitude, both arrogant AND vindictive. Well done.

strange he says the contract was already signed and they delayed announcing it because of the sad news with Patrick. But then he goes on to say he has lost out on money from the new contract? So it wasn't signed? Wonder in what context he said that as it doesn't paint a good picture. Almost dismissive of us and we should be greatful?

It’s almost as though he would say literally anything regardless of veracity

More like he was about to be sacked and we would have had to pay him compo. As it turns out, we’ve offloaded a failing manager and got money coming the other way.
I’d say we came off as winners.

Is what he's done worse than LJ?
Just cos he's from Barnsley some think he won't be a lovely person to the the fans/club .. I think some of us probably weren't taken in by the fact he was from Barnsley, It's irrelevant .At the end of the day he mayve been a good training coach, a man manager, well the jury's out to quote

I understand he would have his own reasons for wanting to love on. I even get why Leeds would be tempting, but with every passing day I feel the manner of his departure gets worse. I know new managers have to look to get the new fan base on side but just a word to the fans who have backed him especially these last 12 months would be nice. Even Winnall thaked us when he left.

    I think he's right.

Lots of our fans would have backed him to the moon and back, others like me wouldn't have shouted for his head but we're getting a bit fed up.

I think his leaving has probably pleased quite a few that maybe thought it wouldn't.

I see it as a fresh start, and there is enough time just to do enough to keep ourselves up and regroup.

Hecky told a group of us after training last Friday ...He would never have signed a new contract while patric crine was in charge

Is he saying we are the "winners" because he judges everything purely in terms of money?

There are other considerations in life.

Yes by a country mile, at least jonno had the somewhat flimsy excuse that he was leaving for a club close to his heart and when he left he didn't further try and destabilise the club by taking all its backroom staff, sithi.

He is beginning to sound like an extremely disaffected, even bitter, bloke.
Either constant discussion online ( and even on the touchline) about his capabilities as a manager or a major fall out within the club could be at the root of it or maybe both.
It seems strange that a lifelong fan of the club has very little positive to say about it. His departure in comparison to LJ’s lacks class, to say the very least.

Concur, if you'd told me even 6 months ago, there would be a time soon where my opinion of Little Lee was higher than that of our latest departed coach, I would never ever have believed you. I'm thinking its much further north of bitter, this is full blown acrid stout.

Which means if he did then how would he miss out on the money from the new contract?

    It just seems contradictory

What did lee Jay actually do that was so bad. He had no affiliation to barnsleyfc yes Patrick stuck by him through a bad run just like the current owners have with hecky. His club Bristol came in for him offered him more money and the chance to manage in a higher division. 3 days after he left he explained to reds supporters that he couldn't turn "his" club down and thanked supporters and Patrick and has always been respectful of our club.
