Both are professional sportsmen who made decisions based on their own ambitions and with their families' needs in mind.

To OP.. fk em. It's been and gone and I'm glad PH has gone .. he was on his way to get sacked imv , so you can't blame him for going to Beeston at least for a few months..

 

I wouldn't want to put my family through that, wife out shopping and kids at school is all going to attract unwanted attention. Knowing what some people are like it could get very nasty.

 

Please refrain from this families needs/future rubbish, he was on what most people in the area see as big, money at Barnsley , and i am sure his kids got fed and went to school with shoes on! He jumped ship from a club in the middle of a relegation battle at a critical time of the season. And he has had a big part in where we are at this moment. His team selection, his tactics, his gameplan.

 

Thats that then, if you earn more than £500 quid a week and your kids get decent shoes every 6 months you should be happy with your lot. Don't ever try and upgrade your life or look for a bigger house. Holiday to Disney? **** that I don't want people from Barnsley thinking I've gone all Billy Big B0ll0cks.

Whats the magic number though? You know when he's got too much and he can just throw any career aspirations out of the window? The point where he has to turn any amount of money down to suit us all.

For what its worth, I'm over him going and I'm disappointed its Leeds but alas whatever happens next, he's going to be a very rich man. He's won the lottery, which when you ignore the way he's gone about it, we'd all take with open arms.

I heard he was on 2 grand a week at Barnsley which is chicken feed in relation to his peers. We all want to be paid our worth.

 

Nobody is happy with whats happened but anybody who says they wouldn't accept another job for a significant pay rise is lieing we all would especially if your days in current job are numbered he is looking after number one and that is what happens every day in every company in every persons life. If his Family weren't his main concern hed work for nothing .Now can we move on from hecky now anybody would think he was the messiah .No body spoke like this about Andy Richie when he got us promotion and got the sack (he built the team and did the hard work),Hecky just inherited a team that did well ,when that finished and he had to build a team and run them his way lets face it HE FAILED so is he really so good.

I'd say Wilson was the worst one because he left us when we were still doing OK. Yeah, we had been relegated from the prem, but we still had good players and could have had another tilt at getting back up. Fans still loved him.

Heckyarse was already dividing opinion. Fans had turned on him on Saturday, and there were lots of other fans that had been fed up for sometime, but were getting shot down for daring to criticise him.

20 years in between and footballs changed. Wilson probably went there for football reasons as well as a fatter pay check. Heckys gone for the money. It's win win for him given their sacking record.

 

Can't help feeling that if he hadn't come out with the 'Barnsley is my club, I'm a Barnsley supporter' he would have been shown the door some time ago. The results have been crap for ages so I'm not losing sleep over him going

 

Neither both took a hefty pay rise for doing the same job. Anyone who says the wouldn’t do the same is not being honest with themselves.

Edit: you can continue living where you live and make no changes to your family life other than perhaps an extra 20 minutes in the car every day.

 

Funnily enough I wouldn't. If I was happy where I was and the money was decent I would think twice before moving. Especially if I supported the club. Yes, I know they'd get shot of me if results were poor but it's the same in most lines of business

 

I was offered a big pay rise for a job promotion. However, it meant that we'd have to move out of the area, although the company was happy to foot the bill. Unfortunately, as we have a seriously ill daughter, there's no way we could guarantee the care she was receiving from the Sheffield's Children Hospital would be matched by any she'd receive elsewhere in the country. I put the care and well being of my daughter before any pay rise I'd be getting, so I turned the offer down. Some things are more important than money.

 

Meant to add the no uprooting family you can just carry on living where you were element!

So if I offered you an extra half a million quid a year to do exactly the same job. No changed to where you live or your family life other than a bit of a longer car journey into work you’d turn me down?

 

It would have to be Danny for me , he made a statement a few days before he went that he was staying with us, our captain had been sold to Charlton & then he did a complete u turn & went to the Wendies , a team I detest , it left us without our captain & our manager for the 1st game of the season , which we had been preparing for the previous 2 months, all our preparation in tatters before a ball had been kicked .

 

Sums up where I'm at perfectly. Next manager won't get anything from me. No defending. No time. **** em.
