I've just been reading the Chronicle.

Mcburnie reckons our players are better than they think they are. Promising.

Hecky reckons Harsley could do exactly what he did ie taking on the caretaker role, which seems like an admission that the players aren't really that bad but Hecky couldn't buy a win. - that'll go down well at Leeds.

Re - new manager. Best of luck to him. All the guessing is over, and it's time we all united behind him and the players.

Absolutely no disrespect to Burton, but they are bottom of the league and Tuesday is a really good opportunity to really hit the ground running.

New guy, new start, possibly new formations and hopefully players will start on merit.

    You Portugeezer reds!

1: Hope he didn't mistake "Championship" for "Champions League" like all of Davey's foreign imports did!
2: He's coming to break into English football I hope so he's not going to do things by halves.

    hard to know how this will go, certainly gunna be interesting, read a little on his solo jobs;

AEK - was unbeaten at home but drew far too many games with a club expected to finish in top 4, was mid table and resigned after fallout with board
Antalyaspor - had a few notable wins against big teams Galatasaray etc, but overall team was in mid table, his brain haemorrhage probably didn't help, Samuel Eto'o was his top scorer.
he won a cup in Saudi Arabia and was top of the league in Tunisia when he left but you can't really compare the standard of those two leagues to Greece and Turkey

done **** loads as an assistant / head coach etc but it's always hard to quantify those achievements

Apprehensive, but in a good way, exciting times indeed. Obviously his first job is to steer us clear of relegation, let’s hope the players respond!

Really pleased and excited by this appointment. Head Coach means he will concentrate on the football - in terms of tactical experience then he is way ahead of Paul Heckingbottom, but the real factor I think will be how he motivates and inspires the team. He will bring fresh ideas and is not one of the journeyman who has been on the merry go round of the sack race in England. I wish him well - hope the boys are training today.

34 points in 27 games at Antalyaspor
17 point in 14 games at AEK

We're currently at 28 points in 31 games.

So he's always done better than where we are currently this season.

Win % is a fairly useless stat. Even if he does perform to the same level he did at AEK we would reach around 47/48 points - which most seasons is enough to stay up.

It's definitely a progressive appointment. Is the door open for a general manager or director of football?
Some of our young uns certainly need a father figure on occasion.
As ever, I wish all newcomers the very best...
    Now let's get out there & tw@t em!! :)

Win % is a terrible stat, why do Sky etc continue to use it?

Is ppg at those two clubs is 1.21, that's a 55 point season.

well I just mean that Turkish superlig and greek league are similar level to championship and saudi arabia and tunisia would be equivalent to league 2 or something

His name has a great ring to it for use in some new songs! :D

    Oh Jose Morais
    We're going to Wembley
    Poor old Heckys at Guiseley
    Que sera sera

Getting that one ready :D pmsl if it came true. Cant see Leeds doing owt against Brizzle after they threw away a 3 goal lead last week.

With a CV like his I'm sure he doesn't want relegation adding to it so he's going to be working his knackers off!

    Good luck Jose!

Very much wait and see, I know next to nothing about him. The big clubs he worked at were all under someone else so while impressive he held those roles this is a different challenge in so many ways.
I have long believed our squad is not good enough and although improved in January we still lack a lot going forward. Hopefully he can get more out of us from a attacking stand point. Given our position if he comes and keeps us up he will have done a tremendous job. If we go down he will be largely blameless so he almost has a free pass for the rest of this campaign.
Depending on what league we are in next season our recruitment will be interesting to see how much backing and control he reciveves and is allowed.
As I know nothing about him I very much go in with a open mind and look forward what difference we notice both in the short and longer term.
