Just to lighten the mood ..... Mine would be the Boxing Day Ashes Test - one for when I retire I think
Slow pitch and no concessions on 4th and 5th days. Good to see Headingley get an Ashes test in 2023 will Joe Root still be captain ?
And mine. When England won the Rugby world cup I almost went. I had just remortgaged the house to have some work done, and the funds were sitting in my bank account. We knew someone who worked for the sports council in Australia, and could have got tickets for everything, but in the end I gave in to my sensible side and stayed at home. I did have some programmes sent over though. Re the boxing day cricket, let's get summat organised and start saving up.
Wrestlemania (does that count?) Monaco grand Prix Superbowl Wimbledon I can dream. I think I might have to settle for watching biglil in a leotard, standing on the dearne valley parkway on a Saturday night, watching Barnsley ladies rugby and thinking about Andy Ritchie '' head tennis
Let's getting saving! Have friends who have been to men's final and one who has done the Boxing Day test :-( World Cup final would be a good one - wouldn't mind a Ryder Cup in the Us
I'm 61 on the 17th March and I still day dream of pulling that red shirt on and playing for the tarn....lol think i know that ships sailed .. Lol
Cheltenham Festival on the first day. Always wanted to go to Hibernian V Hearts on a weekend at Easter Road, this’ll probably never happen, even if I could get a ticket, it’s almost certain to always clash with a BFC game. and my love for football dies a little more as time goes by, I’ve gone from watching every game on Sky to only really watching Barnsley in recent years. Everything else that I wanted to do I have.
Non-Barnsley, mine would have to be the all-Ireland final of either Gaelic football or hurling at Croke Park. The atmosphere looks absolutely insane.
Probably to see a fully packed stadium at Oakwell again. Having been in the crowd when we played Man City in '81 & Everton in '89, with over 30,000 in the ground it seems like those days will never return. With one side of the ground closed & the dilapidated old West Stand standing empty & big areas of the East & away end closed for safety reasons Oakwell seems a bit sorry these days.
So much for lightening the mood! I'm say as many others - Boxing Day ashes test. I'd like to do the Vuelta, a couple of the Belgian classics, an England game at Twickenham and maybe Dortmund v Bayern.
I’ve done the Boxing Day Test twice it’s pretty special and would definitely recommend it. Super Bowl would be a big choice for me, plus Wimbledon Tennis, US Masters Golf at Augusta. I’d also like to go and see downhill skiing at one of the World Cup events. Bet that’s amazing.
I am with the majority on here , Melbourne on Boxing day for me but alas I do not think I will achieve it
