    Would not like to see any punishment for public entertainment. However I'd like to see the birch brought back for some crimes as it would lower the jail population.

    I am Marc. I heard a radio programme in the 80s with the last guy who had been birched. He had been in prison twice, however the third offence the judge ordered four strikes of the birch. He told the interviewer that after that he had no intention of crime again.

    Seriously ?. How can you say that when (for me anyway) 1990-91 under Machin was some of the best footy Ive ever seen us play, and Oakwell was the proverbial fortress for us then.
