Anybody any idea how close to a first team appearance he is? Could be the goals from midfield we are lacking.
Miles away, apparently. I didn't see it myself, but those who did reckon he was well off the pace in that U23 game last week. I was hoping he'd be straight at it, because we could do with him.
I saw most of that game and nobody for us really shone so didn't really see it as a fair gauge on him after one run our where he was probably just a bit rusty after not playing for a while. I was hoping people had heard he was training well and pushing for a start. That was one thing that really got me with hecky we used to sign players and not see them play for 2 to 3 weeks while they got them up to speed or whatever. I've never known a system like it where we seemed to be signing players who didn't know how to play or weren't fit enough.
When Jamie Clapham was asked about Knasmullner, he basically said they didn’t know anything about the player.
Yes Judging by his comments I think a major reason he left was to do with recruitment He mentioned quite a few times about how the ‘recruitment team needed to get their finger out’ and so on But then he said he had the final say on players too, I can’t quite work it out as to what went on but I’m convinced he found this a major problem He also made a point of mentioning it went he joined the leeds scum.
If judged on that performance, none of the first team squad members (including Knasher) who played in thet U23 game against Everton would get a start anytime soon. It was appalling. One off? I've no idea.
Judging him in that game is just a waste of time as the team was poor and the service he and Thiam had upfront was woeful.
All opinions of course, but for me neither Knasmullner or Thiam did much with what they did see of the ball. Thiam looked slow, and short of ideas. Knasmullner looked lightweight, and disinclined to get involved in tackles, which didn't encourage me. I really hope we can see either or both in a better light in the fullness of time.
Im sure he would rather have had the first say. I.e deciding which players to go after. The final say might just have been the ability to turn a player down. If you do that forever we would have no players.
Well they don’t do that at Leeds either. As far as a Leeds supporter explained to me they have a head of recruitment that the head coach instructs to find a player and then they recruit the player based on their own methodology.
Yep that’s why his comments were strange. I’m pretty sure he had issues with our recruitment processes anyway
I never read or heard any comments from Clapham on Knasmullner , please tell me where you heard or read that & I will have a look or a listen , thanks
There was an interview with Jamie Clapham on iFollow just after transfer deadline day. JC was doing it because Heckingbottom was “busy on the training pitch.”
Of course I only saw the second half, but they saw next to nothing of the ball and when they did it was aimlessly hoofed up to them leaving them little chance to actually control it. When they did so there was no support from the midfield because they weren't offering any support. Neither him or Thiam are target men, yet both were expected to play those roles. I think both would suit a 4-2-3-1 formation if that's what we're eventually going to play as it afford both the chance to play to their strengths a little more. That said Thiam still needs to work a bit harder
