Or he thinks if he leads it he can look to channel funds to areas other than Sheffield thus representing his constituents to tbe best of his ability.
Jarvis is a career politician, nothing more. No connection to Barnsley or it’s club. The day he voted to go to war in Syria and said it’s what his constituents wanted and had told him at his surgeries infuriated me. Can’t stand the bloke.
True, but most public figures (still alive) would have some degree of editorial control over their Wiki page. Wasn't that a contributory factor in Paul Nuttall's demise?
Hi, I didn’t go to the champions league final in Istanbul. Oh and neither do I support Liverpool or York city or dulwich hamlet. I also never went to qegs
Just for clarification, this is what is included in the introduction to his policy statement: In his spare time, Dan enjoys reading, running, hill walking, cycling and supporting Barnsley FC – all of which can be hard work at times!
In the interests of balance I understand that Ben Curran is a long-time Sheff Wednesday seasn ticket holder...
I wonder which club from the drop down menu his introduction statement will say when he's mayor of Sheffield.........
Just reading that if Dan does become South Yorkshire Mayor, he will have to stand down as an MP. Talk of a stitch up by the Corbynistas on the NEC. https://order-order.com/2018/03/21/corbynistas-stitch-up-dan-jarvis/
Labour can't compel that if he's successful - they could only deselect him as Labour candidate for parliament next time around. If they do, I hope he stands as an independent. Given Corbyn's soft approach on the Salisbury poisoning he may find he's lost more friends than he realises.
Soft approach what asking that we abide by international convention? As for Jarvis meh. Don’t we want an MP who is solely focused on his job? Career politician with no link or affinity to the town. https://www.opcw.org/chemical-weapo...x-consultations-cooperation-and-fact-finding/
"I think you have illegally used a deadly and virulent poison on our soil, against one of our citizens, and potentially endangering the lives of many other innocents in contravention of international agreements on the use of chemical weapons. Would you like to take away this sample please and tell me if that is the case? Thank you." I'm sure they would tell us the truth.
It doesn’t matter whether they will or not that’s the international convention that we have signed up to. If you don’t agree with it don’t sign up.
I don't really get the glorification of the armed forces. They don't do it for nowt, it's a career choice and it doesn't automatically make someone better than anyone else.
We have to share the evidence with them, Corbyn knows it, May knows it, everyone involved knows it. If it was the other way around we would want and would be entitled to a fair chance to study the situation. It’s going to happen either way so why are people trying to make Corbyn look like he’s siding with Russia?
Hardly a stitch up. City region mayor and MP are both full time jobs. Andy Street in the West Midlands quit his job at John Lewis before he even ran for mayor, and Andy Burnham stood down from parliament once elected.
