One of the worst halfs of football I have seen from a Barnsley side. Making Burton Albion look like Barcelona.
Slow sideways and backwards passing followed by big hoof or attempts at pele style worldy pass that never come off. Can't remember a worse 45 minutes at home. Could be 2 or 3 nil making Burton look like Brazil.
Too many gambles brought in cept for mcburnie for me. Ironic thing is, there’s only a couple of them playing tonight. We are where we deserve to be sadly. As I post this burton goes 0-2 up ffs!
Remember Johnson when he first came - setup up to play as though we had players the quality of barcelona and they just werent up to it and we were awful. Only when hammil came in and we went 442 did it improve. I hope Jose has not come in and tried to change too many things at once - thats just asking for trouble. Sure he said he wasn't going to do that.
Definitely the worst 45 minutes of football I’ve seen this season. Look completely shot of confidence.
A truly bizarre half of football. We haven't made a tackle. We'v never pressed the ball. Whatever signings we have or haven't made doesn't excuse the fact that we don't look like we want to be here. This isn't the Barnsley we know.
Yes there is that. I did wonder about the continuity in management style. AFAIK we had a 'policy' or 'concept' to the way we played. We had a formula that allowed us to get the best out of each other - the moneyball system if you will. If Morais has come in and weve thrown that system in the bin no wonder we are all over the place as the players no longer know their roles properly. 11 players learning a new system. This is why i wondered whether they would have left Harsley in charge till the end of the season to enable continuity.
