Townsend - 4 put it in the corners and he’s not going to get there
Yiadom - 6 steady, worked hard and got forwards
Mills - 4 wayward pass after wayward pass, no idea how he missed that header
Lindsay - 5 looked unsure but I think anyone would playing alongside Mills
Pinnillos - 8 best game for us, sweet strike and could have got a second
Isgrove - 3 nothing came off for him
    Gardner - 3 anonymous
Williams - 5 tried hard and put in a few decent tackles but he was given all the responsibility to try and create, but that isn’t his game
Hammill - 4 marginally better than Isgrove but no end product
Bradshaw - 2 everything bounced off him, poor
McBurnie - 7 put in a good shift and didn’t waste possession, looked equally good on the wing

Thiam - 6 lost possession a few times but looked lively
Potts - 6 got stuck in and looked much sharper than on previous showings
Moore - 6 won lots of headers but none of them quite dropped for us

I hope we make wholesale changes for the next game. The team that finished the match looked much better than the one that started it.

Mills was awful. Bradshaw even worse. Hammill not up to it. Isgrove ineffective. Townsend terrible positioning for the second goal. Potts and Moore made a difference when they came on, as did Thiam, but his set pieces were awful. Too many of that team are League 1 quality. For me Yiadom was excellent, never has a bad game...

Yeah, Yiadom was MOM tonight down that right wing. Linked well with Thiam. Thiam just needs a goal or two to boost his confidence - he can win a ball pretty well.

Just about how I saw it to be fair. Id probably change two of the ratings.

Gardner - 1 - I'm convinced he was a cardboard cut out attached to a sandbag

Potts - 7 - at least he went towards the Burton goal with some urgency. Has to start Saturday.

    Yids (7) Jackson Mills (6) Pinillos (7)
    Potts (7) Williams (6) Mallan
    Thiam (7) Moore (7) McBurnie (7)

Brackets are my ratings from yesterday

So Townsend makes one error, and is straight out? He stays for me.

His distribution is pretty much 100% accurate and speedy. I’m not knocking Davies, but he had several mistakes and still kept his place.

Didn’t Hecky say that if you base it on training effort, Townsend would be the one picked?

    Mills?

    A 6?

******* hell fire. If and when he has a good game then you’d be giving him a rating of 2,347.

Think that may be too gung-ho for an away match, but would agree for at home that would be the sort of attacking line up. I think we might be better packing the midield & giving Moncur a run out & play Thiam wide again & leave McBurnie as solo striker. Put Moore on second half to hold play up & close down.

Agree on that. We have to be more positive, but vs Birmingham I'm not sure lofting the ball up to Moore will reap rewards vs Roberts.
