Hopefully Jose has learned something about his players.

. . .and the line up that starts at Birmingham is similar in personnel and urgency to the one that finished the game tonight.

We all saw the difference before and after the changes, so hopefully he'll let those lads carry the baton into the next game. I think they deserve a start.

Dunt put McBurnie on the wing tho.
Best striker since Sam & he needs to be the goal threat.

Fair comment, but was more the wide left of a front 3 and did very well cutting in.

Good thing is that he looks like he is adaptable, and can play that role.

He’s adaptable cos he’s a premier league striker in waiting, a natural goal scorer who needs to be used as such in the short time we will have him.
He COULD keep us up, but won’t if he’s on the wing every week.

Fitzytyke - I think last nights performance was the best thing that could have happened - we were abysmal in the first half and only a tad better in the second half. Jose will have learnt a lot about his players and the challenges he faces as manager and my guess is there will be a lot of sorting out/intensive coaching being done in the next few days.
I think that had we got a good result against Burton we may have become complacent. Losing 2-1 will give Jose a reason to kick-ass.

Well he will have seen we lack quality and couldn't create chances even against a poor team. He did seem to identify this quickly and went with the big lads and punting the ball into the box. This of course was helped by the fact Burton were sitting back.
Now he has to decide if he can get us to actually play any better and get enough out of our poor squad to do that. Or do we go long ball to the end of the season? I'd be very tempted to just go direct.

I've calmed a bit after last night and tried to put the performance into perspective and be more philosophical . So after I've slept on it , sugar coat it as much as we want with the improved second half , we were simply crap and lost against the bottom of the league .

i just want to see him go straight to his preferred formation now. we simply don't have the players for 4-4-2. nothing to lose.

Jackson's been a huge miss. How far off is Pinnock now?

I hope he sits down with the team and makes them re-watch the first half and then asks each player individually to comment about his performance. I said on here before Hecky left it was time to try 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1, we can't afford the luxury of "wingers" who spend much of the game picking their nose out wide, need the full backs to offer width and a front 3 who can split wide too.
