-Tick a lot of away grounds off

    -Some good weekends away

-Should win more than five in a season

-No queues for beer at half time

    -Fill away ends

    Any others?

No. last time we needed it this time it’ll be a disaster. We may win occasionally though will have to sell most of the team I’d imagine.

    Do these benefits outweigh;

    An empty Oakwell
    Poor (ha ha) football)
    Risk of basement league

League 1 has a single attraction:
It is an attractive destination if you are a League 2 club

We don't need a new team a few in and a few out. I am convinced now Hecky is the one who has fxcked this season up for us not the recruitment.

After watching that display last night you think the previous manager was more to blame than the players?

I do we saw an outdated system being played by players who were not suited to that way of playing and they suffered the know your role or dropped method of management. There has been obviously a few players that have played a significant amount of games that shouldn't have again down to the previous coach. Changes will now made and we will see.

I can list all the the Benefits of League 1 on the back of the same postage Stamp I listed the benefits of having a Tory Government lead by Teresa May with Boris as Foreign Secretary - ie its a very short list indeed

We will see and hopefully I'm right or it is league 1 next year, it may be too late now anyway but changes in formation and some players should see improvement as it has been dire watching hammill cross to Bradshaw with Gardner and Williams in the middle with no one in the team who can take a decent corner or free kick. Not difficult to see how improvements can be made.

more years in the wilderness? No thanks, would be a disaster unless we came straight back up.

The bloke at the side of me last night had a programme and kept looking at the back cover at the player list , now , I didn't count but we must have 35 players on the books . I agree we need to get better players in, but we need to get shut of some of the ***** first .

But up to January we didn't have a striker who could win a header. Mallan is half decent on the ball but a passenger without it. Gardner and Williams doesn't work but we have limited options. Potts does offer something different and tries to go forward, but lacks quality. We have 2 goalkeepers who are not good enough for this league and have got through half a dozen centre halfs. Chopped and changed full backs due to lack of constitancey and left ourselves short of options out wide.
Was Hecky blameless? Of course not.
Is the squad good enough to compete in this league? I don't think so and the league table seems to agree.

A change of system might improve things slightly but it's easy to hide behind this. The problem is the players are **** - possible the worst squad we have ever had at this level. A different system will not compensate for this.

    I’m not.

I do think he got plenty wrong, I’m not overly defending him as some did (or used to), but the squad he was left with (and publicly wasn’t happy with) after the August window was abysmal. The games we won in the first third of the season were arguably against the grain. He and they underachieved in the middle third though, poor squad or not, one win in sixteen was atrocious, and he was in charge for most of that. The squad was woeful though.

I also don’t think he was overly happy with all the signings in January. Though the squad is much better now, I do wonder if they were still James Cryne spreadsheet signings.

Positioning yourself to say that everything from here on in is Heckingbottom’s fault though is a bit rich - and a lot bitter. We’re all narked off at how he left and where he went. He still achieved a lot here though.

We have (had) a series of winnable games. The first one the team performed abysmally in for the first 45 minutes. I was at work but from reports it was even worse than the Leeds performance.

I’ll give the new manager that - he’s not had a stack of time to influence - but marked improvement is required and quickly.

I’d be amazed if a change in shape - and quite a few personnel - isn’t sent out at Birmingham.

If indeed we are relegated we will never know if we would have been under Heckingbottom; either way Morais will be culpable as well. He hasn’t a got a free pass to be *****.
