This is an easy one to prove, we will see in a month's time when heckys influence is knocked out of them and replaced with a way of playing that suits.
Being a big fish in a small pound. Being an attractive option to the better players looking for clubs at that level. The players we already have will be amongst the better players in the league. The likes of Matty Wolfe, Jacob Brown, Motley Henry, and Jared Bird, will have more of a chance of getting game time and developing. We’ll be going into games on more of a level playing field than at championship level. We’ll probably win more than we lose, as long as we get our ducks in a row during the summer. away days we’ve not done for a while. And a genuine chance of competing at the top end of the table.
Don't underestimate the affect dropping Bradshaw and ditching 442 will have, I hope it's not too late but it's going to be clear to see the difference. No difference then it's the squad not good enough an improvement and it's the coach and mcburnie that's made the difference.
The ‘positives’ of league one are mentioned above. Straws. Clutching. Being back down in that ale house league wouldn’t be a disaster of epic proportions - we’d likely recover - but let nobody pretend it’s in any way an attractive proposition.
Sorry but I can't see any. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt, don't want to go there again ta very much.
Plobby I support a team with much the same problems. I watch a side with mercenary players who just do not have the bottle for a fight and are happy to just go through the motions and pick up an inflated undeserved wage at the end of the month. It's depressing and I fully understand your concerns.
I’m convinced that exactly the opposite is true. Look at January we need bodies in to make a difference straightway so we sign Knausmullner who is miles off being ready. Daft.
Early summer quality recruitment and retaining better players is absolutely key for any team because we're now reaping what we sewed . Judas did say this on many occasions, and its not rocket science . 'If you sell your best players you'll need to replace them with 2/3 new ones', hence why we've got 35 bang average 'uns.
Not getting a striker / mcburnie in the summer cost us the rest I blame on hecky. As for knasmullner its not a big problem as we are not in desparate need of another no 10 but I'm sure Jose will use him when he stamps his formation on the team. There was no place for him in a hecky team so I'm unsure of why they signed him.
Only 3 new grounds for me in current league one. Really wouldn't want to be back there. We would lose 4 to 5k from our average gate. Away end would be as empty as last night for most games, and everyone would be trying especially hard to beat us, as we would be perceived as a big club in that league.
We were desperate for a central midfielder possibly two. Unfortunately the spreadsheet just keeps kicking up number 10d hence the reason our first choice (and not very good central midfield partnership is on loan). We needed to sign 5/6 straight in the first team no messing players. We failed. Again.
