Fair play to Burton! I thought some of the stuff they played last night was very decent, considering they’ve spent majority of the season in the bottom three.

Their build up play for the first goal was exceptional, even though our defending was absolute *****! I liked the way they passed the ball around on the deck rather than the utterly useless hoof balls we try from defence that just surrender our possession almost every time (particularly when Bradshaw is up top).

I just wish we would pass the ball around more, playing more centrally and have players running at the opposition with the ball, it showed against Wednesday when McBurnie scored that it works! Can’t see us ever playing like that though with that midfield pairing, individually they’re ok, together they’re useless.

Back on Burton though, if they play more like that they’ve a reight chance of stopping up and I honestly hope they do but not on our expense!

Our formation made them look good, they had oceans of space to pass around in, they struggled once we went to 4-3-3.

I honestly think it was more by force of will that we dragged ourselves back into the game rather than due to any tactical nuance, to be honest. Mills played up front for the last 10 minutes and we pinged high balls to him and Moore, winning some and scrambling some half chances.

Yes, and we were fortunate to win there back in October.

Struggled lol they sat back to protect a lead by choice. If they had gambled and played more they could have had a few breakaway chances too.
