Interesting listen this one. He speaks very well. Can only be good for the lads to have someone with a career like that in the building. Also looks like a member of the Soprano family. Cool *******. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p05zdf6p
His English is excellent. Clearly a smart guy who knows his stuff, what a guy to have in the building.
What an impressive interview , thoughtful answers to all questions with a very good grasp of the language
Not here to mess about, get impression from interview got ambitions to go as far as he can. Just hope it’s with us and we’re just starting a magical mystery ride to an established Premier side.
Good interview. We've appointed well, we've got some very experienced coaches and by the sounds of it, some really nice blokes. It may work, it may not, personally I think it will. I think they're going to bring a hell of a lot to this club. But they're going to leave at some point. If they do what they've come here to do, the whole coaching team will be poached by a bigger club. When that happens, can we please not call them 'Judas'. They're not pretending to support Barnsley, they're being honest, they're telling us they're going to work to the best of their ability and that's exactly what they're going to do. Let's just enjoy this great appointment while we've got it. And when they leave, let's trust the owners to make another good appointment. Don't get too attached. Don't believe they're Barnsley fans. They're professionals doing a professional job. We're in a fantastic position to be able to attract such people. I think they'll move us up a level or two, make us a competitive Championship team (even if that involves a relegation this season). I think they'll enjoy their time here, Barnsley is a good place with good people, but it doesn't matter how much money the owners have, there are far more prestigious clubs than us and if these guys do well with us they will be noticed, they will move on. And we'll employ someone else who wants the opportunity in English football, who can continue to develop what these guys have started. And we'll be OK. We're in a different era now. We're going to get better but it won't be instant. People will come and go, and we'll have to get used to professionals doing a professional job and moving on. They won't be Barnsley fans, but they'll do well for our club. I reckon if we don't make it personal, we're going to enjoy it.
Agreed. Got me excited. Really really hoping we stay up even more than usual, just to see what can be achieved with a blank slate from them. Get the feeling they’d not be keen to hang around in league 1.
Great post & agree with every word you have written , strange how fans have different views , after one week in the job & one defeat , he was described on here as clueless , thankfully the majority will give these guys the time to do their jobs & hopefully they will be successful , lets be realistic , they have worked & played with some of the best in the world & surely with that experience at the club , we have the right to be at the very least optimistic
