I think today is a bit too soon - A lot depends on where the storm Emma goes and the forecasters seem to keep changing their minds. Maybe tomorrow afternoon/evening if the snow still looks to be heading over south yorkshire on Saturday it may be worth considering but if we arent expecting heavy snow on Saturday I cant see why it needs to be called off at this stage. The pitch has undersoil heating so that wont be a problem. They ought to make a decision on Friday evening latest though as Norwich fans will rightly be annoyed if there isnt any realistic chance of us playing and we wait until lunchtime on Saturday to call it off
Probably will make a decision by lunchtime on friday as Norwich team will be probably travelling up Friday afternoon & nobody wants to travel in this weather unless they have to
I’d just call it off now and save everyone the hassle. Be daft to even try to get it on in these conditions.
Long range forecast is that more snow is going to fall. The main problem is not the top lair of powdery snow, it's what's underneath it that poses the biggest problem. If you shovel the snow out of the way, you hit a solid sheet of compacted ice. Doubt very much they will be able to clear all the footpaths in and around the ground to make it safe for fans on foot, plus as many have said, we have to consider the safety of the Norwich team and their supporters who have to travel on many roads that are exposed to the elements. For me, with everybody's safety being paramount, it would make sense to see how the conditions are tomorrow, before deciding whether the game can go ahead as planned.
Yeah, it’ll be around lunchtime tomorrow, as Norwich will be planning to set off around then. Can’t argue if it is - can’t be helped and tbf, I think the squad would welcome the rest.
Get it called off. By the time it is rearranged, Narridge will be mathematically unable to get into the top six, and we'll roll them over. God, it's cold. Ooh, it's chilly. Wow, I'm slipping all over the place. Must be, what, almost freezing out there? Makes sense to not play any football this weekend. Brrrr.
I reckon today is a bit early to call it off but a decision should be made by tomorrow lunchtime. I'm selfishly hoping that it is called off as I might have to miss an home match voluntarily for the first time since becoming a ST holder otherwise.
Im hoping the weather improves and we play it - planning on coming up tomorrow evening to spend weekend with parents and go to game I may revise plans depending on what happens with the weather though - but if the game is postponed I definitely wont be able to get to the rearranged one
Sheffield United's game against Burton has been postponed. Bramall Lane is playable but they are worried for the safety of motorists and pedestrians getting to and from the ground. Millers game at Gillingham also off. Pitch inspections planned for tomorrow at the Keepmoat and Oakwell. Bet a pound to a pinch of snuff we'll be off.!
I'm in the same position, albeit I'm not travelling from as far away as Farnham. Could do with knowing either way by tomorrow afternoon
Hopefully will be off to give Morais more time with the players, so when it's rearranged Norwich are on the beach, get Jackson back for it and so we don't all freeze. Can't see it being on. Blunts are just down the road and already called it off with nearby opponents. We won't be far behind with the travel Norwich will have to do.
If it’s rearranged it’ll be midweek and so I’ll miss it. But they can’t play it if the surrounding area is frozen.
Expecting it to be called off now. We're due 'Storm Emma' and the whole of England is now under a severe weather warning which has caused Bradford Local Authority to advise all schools close tomorrow.
