...thought you were unlucky overall tonight. Played reasonably well with loads of possession but lack a cutting edge. Only the Jack on loan to you looked dangerous tbh. And despite You having a lot of the ball, thought we had the better chances. Poor first half, although I thought we were the better side. At 0-0 we should have gone in front when Zohore played Harris through on goal. Instead of going near post he went across the keeper & put it wide. Then, you broke down your right flank and put in a great cross right into the danger area and somehow your guy (No. 22 with a beard) mis-timed his header & didn’t even hit the target from a central position. Ironically, we then scored following a mis-timed shot from Zohore that broke to Paterson for him to slot home. He also scored the winner at Oakwell. Second half started and we’d scored before I had time to return with my Bovril. Had to watch the replay on the screen in the concourse. Game over surely. But no, 10 mins or so & you pulled a goal back. From then on, you were by far the better side. That said, whilst you had loads of possession, you didn’t seem threatening? Couple of scrambles in the area but that was it really. We managed a couple of late breaks and should have scored another two. Craig Bryson won a tackle on the edge of your box & was through on goal. Instead of squaring to the unmarked Zohore & Mendez-Laing he decided to shoot & put it wide from 8yds out. Mendez-Laing then hit the inside of the post from a central position when, under little pressure, should probably have done better. I do think you could have gone down to 10 men though for a late follow-through on our keeper by your number 19. Looked really poor from our position in the stadium. We’re far from pretty but are certainly effective & know how to win games. You keep playing like that & you’ll be fine. All the best for the rest of the season.
The Sky reporter at the game said from her view that "Moore had every right to make the challenge, seemed to do little wrong and probably only got booked 'cos of the artificial fuss that the Cardiff players created!"
I thought you were *****, and apart from our crap defending you didn’t create anything. You were also w4nk at Oakwell and got away with a lucky win. Good luck for the rest of the season, not that you’ll need it, you seem to have plenty.
Keeper had two hands on it and your guy slid through studs first from my view. Opposition fans in different opinions shocker.
Can’t believe the Cardiff fans or players got upset over that challenge with the keeper. Our striker had every right to go for it. I don’t think the other way around your fans or manager would have looked at it as a bad challenge. Moore isn’t a dirty player either.
Warnock is good at what he does. That interview is designed to ensure he gets favourable treatment in the next few games. Ferguson was a genius at doing that. Whatever gets results. He’s hated in a lot of places, he makes jokes about it himself, but I’m not sure many managers would have this Cardiff team, which looks very limited, looking at automatic promotion. Annoying old sod but he’s very effective. I hope they go up to be honest, we rarely get much from his teams so assuming we stay up I’d sooner play someone else.
Ayup Bluebird. Watched the match on iFollow. Have to agree with my fellow reds that Moore's challenge was hard but fair; he'd already begun it before your keeper had hands on the ball. Always going to be a booking in this modern, soft-as-***** game, but not even close to a red card. You shaded the first half, and but for a woeful piece of defending, we might have gone in level or, as you say, if Gardner hadn't wasted that header, we might even have been undeservedly ahead. Second half different story after your second; we dominated, but have so little firepower up front, it's wasted effort really. I'll say what I said after the game at Oakwell; fair play to Warnock - to have such an unimpressive side so high in the table is quite an achievement. I saw very little between the two sides in either game. You might well go up, but I'm not sure that level of performance will cut it with the big mesters in the Prem. Oh, and the time-wasting is beyond embarassing - 5 mins injury time should probably have been 10 in all honesty. It must be a really comfy pitch down there, the number of times a Cardiff player chose to sit down for no apparent reason just as we were building some momentum. Typical from Warnock - spoiling tactics, but very effective.
Yes. I'm not surprised to see Cardiff where they are in the league. Warnock's management style is incredibly effective & very well calculated. I'd be very surprised not to see Cardiff in the Premier League next season.
Nice to hear from you again. Seems like the story of our season, not putting chances away. McBurnie has given us goals but we need to start winning. Can’t rely on teams round us making mistakes.
