I wouldn’t say he’s ‘borderline competent’ at it, him & Neville are superb & most would agree Sky’s coverage particularly Monday Night Football is better than anything BT or any other station delivers.

What will probably save him his job is that he’s brilliant at it & they won’t want to break up the Carragher - Neville partnership especially at a time when BT have recruited big names like Gerrard, Lampard & Rio.

If Carragher was in his 60’s I’ve no doubt they’d fire him & get someone younger in but the last thing they’ll want us to lose him

Surely it depends on your job - I doubt I would be sacked as an engineer if I was filmed doing that, unless I was prosecuted and convicted of an imprisonable offence. though I cant be certain of that, and I dont plan on ever finding out.

A think a lot of other jobs would be similar

clearly a teacher or policeman might expect a different punishment for that to a dustbinman

The reason he may well lose his job is he is giving his company bad press. If me or you did it nobody would care who we work for or that it had even happened.
Sky have a public image they want to keep up. To be fair to Carragher he has taken responsibility, I know he couldn't do much else. And this will hang over him for the rest of his life now in a way that it wouldn't for Joe bloggs

I just don't understand why it would enter his head to spit at someone in response - tell them to f*** off maybe, but spitting as a response - odd.

I could swear Jamie Carragher has just driven down our street.

If it wasn’t him it was his spitting image

Embarrassing watching him squirm & beg for forgiveness on the news just now.
There's got to be something seriously wrong with a 40 odd year old bloke who feels tye need to spit at anyone, let alone a 14 year old girl. Obviously he's just a scumbag under that professional Sky persona.
Really hope he gets what he deserves....the sack. What a pillock.

Something else from that footage. Is Carragher wearing a seat belt?

Also if someone spat at my kids in the car I would not be laughing and filming it. I would leather the dirty hethan into the wall bottom

And if he's done for filming then carragher should be done for dangerous driving and for common assault on a minor

Agreed he should be done for dangerous driving. No legal expert but while spitting is definitely classed as assault I suppose doubt would be cast as to wether he was actually spitting at the girl directly, would it be a lesser charge? I don't know. But dangerous driving is certain.

Dangerous driving? hardly to open a window and spit out. you could argue due care and attention possibly but it hardly merits a dangerous driving charge

As for common assault - I think he missed - can you be charged with attempted common assault?

Dont get me Carragher is an odious ***** but I he was clearly provoked and didnt actually cause anyone any actual harm - I think losing his job is a sufficient punishment myself

Again I don't know the different driving offences, watched it again just now and it just seem more juvenile with each viewing. Right pair of kids.

Correct its driving without due care and attention rather than dangerous driving but still it's clearly dangerous. He's also not wearing a seatbelt which is yet another offence. As for the spitting thing he could be charged but he would most likely get away with it. Dappy (ndubs) spat at two girls and was charged with assault because of it but a court cleared him because he missed

It was a bit of banter about the scoreline. How is that provocation?

It looks to me that there was a lot more to it than actually shown on the clip. For a start the guy had got his camera running - im certain that he had already been winding Carragher up and hoped to film a reaction - which is exactly what he got
I doubt even Carragher is such a pillock that his first reaction when a car drives past and shouts the score is to spit at the passenger

Both blokes as bad as each other. However, the guy filming whilst driving, to me, commits the greater crime - endangering his own kids life as well as others. #*****.

Is filming while driving as dangerous as driving without a seatbelt, facing sideways in your seat, hanging your head out of the window and spitting at someone while hurtling down a road?

Yeah - as not wearing a seatbelt only risks yourself. Also no one else in car.

    The Dad risks his family.

Both risk other road users though.

I’ve no issue with the banter, and if what you see is all there is to it, then JC is out of order. However, filming **** like that whilst driving is stupid.
