I didn't expect us to get anything from the last two away fixtures but it looks vital that we get a good haul from this run of three at home. Norwich are becalmed in mid table now and haven't won in six. Despite the cup result, we did Millwall on their patch in the league. Although they have won four of their last five, that match ought to be winnable for us. Bristol may be tricky, but hopefully we can get a point at least. So I think we have to hope for at least seven points from these next three, and hard not to think that has to start with a win tonight in order to gain the momentum. With Forest, Ipswich, Leeds and Derby away it may be hard to get many more points on the road, and the remaining home games against Blunts, Bolton and Brentford are all tricky in their own way. We can't keep on relying on every other team failing. So the more I look at it, the more vital a win tonight seems to be. I think Jose will need to make full use of his substitutes, as the pitch is likely to be quite heavy after all that rain yesterday. But first, Cheltenham!
We've just had 4 consecutive away league games, something I can't ever remember happening before. Six of out last ten games left are at home. We just have to start winning now. We can say it's in out hands given the number of home games we have left. JM should know his players now. Let's pray we don't have a repeat of the Burton start. There can be no excuses. Let's tear into them from the off.
I wonder if folk would still be giving IT time if the results were the same The “talking” has needed to stop all season but sadly we lack the quality
I would say we need to, at worst, not get beaten tonight. Against an opponent whose season is over, who let four in at the weekend to a team who couldn't beat us, we should have a chance even with the caveat that we've won about seven(?) at home since September 2016. Lose tonight and again at the weekend and we have had it, I reckon.
It's in our hands as we've more points than 3 other teams. In theory of we do the business we can't be caught.
You know it will be Sod’s law that when we win a game the other teams round us will also win,but the first thing is to win a game
When we win a game..... dont you mean if. I dont care if we win and everyone else wins at least we get to see the side win and we are still out of the bottom 3 - Id go with us starting winning and not worry too much about the rest
The problem with this playing at home theory is that apart from the other team being inconvenienced by a bit of travel(which they’ll have being doing from 10 years old), oakwell has been like a morgue for 2 decades now. This 12th man that other teams seem to benefit from doesn’t happen on grove street because our own players are attacked from their first misplaced pass.
We've only been in trouble since the new owners & manager came in. We were flying before then. They've ruined it.
We need a bit of luck a decent ref and a team who go forward and attack with some belief - if the new gaffer is to be believed then time for the team to do his talking on the pitch
It's the same at every ground, not just ours. And our players aren't attacked from their first misplaced pass. Constant misplaced passes and no goals might lead to the odd jeer though, again, as at every ground.
