If we stay up we will seriously owe him for saving our absolute arses this season. If only we'd had him in August
Not just the goals, his overall play has been something worth seeing. Even before the goal, he was standing out in the first half. It is a team effort but he has been making the passes just as much as taking the shots.
He's scored 6 of our 8 goals since we signed him, that's 75% of all our goals. He can make a dodgy acrobatic fall and almost fresh air kick into a flukey goal, it's exactly what we need. Sounds like a good finish tonight though
Shame he has to cover left back for last 20 mins. Johnson used to get slaughtered for playing Winnall on left wing but this feller has no qualms about using that tactic especially when he had one unused substitute defender.
I feel like he’d be even more involved if he was down the middle but he’s scoring regularly so not sure I can argue with his position.
It's a shame circumstances aren't different. We should really be enjoying the variety and regularity of his goals, and the fact that he doesn't need umpteen chances to get a goal. Sadly it's all being done in a struggling team and we're not building on his goals.
Great effort from the lad to be scoring so many from such a restrictive role. If we had any decent all-round centre midfielders he'd be playing down the middle off Kieffer and bagging even more. It's one of the things to put into perspective when considering the over-effusive praise, imho, for the likes of Gardner, that we have to have three of them in centre midfield to hold each others hands and cover for each others foibles to even partially compete there. It leaves us short-handed and stretched everywhere else, especially out wide and down the middle up front, which are exactly the areas where you hurt the opposition. Sadly, we've replaced three excellent central midfield players with a whole busload of not very good ones, which to my mind is going to be as economically non-sensical as it has been from a playing perspective.
