Won a lot of challenges, mainly. But he also rarely gave the ball away, got forward a lot more than usual, and looked fairly creative when he did so. He put a proper shift in. It's a poor result in the end but it was a pretty good performance all round. Unfortunately we just don't have the quality. We had two massive chances, Moore and then Thiam, to seal it just after half time. It's disappointing we've only got 1 point, and in the end it's only points and goals that count, but it doesn't take away from the fact it was a decent performance. I have no real grumbles tonight.
The quality thing is the issue and there nack all we can do about that now. You're right about the chances - Thiam's will give me nightmares so don't expdct him to play on Satdi cos he won't have slept
Only listened to the commentary but the majority of your comments are the polar opposite of the impression they gave and things they said
I've weatchd him do his usual sideways passing, lose the ball and commit a foul, rarely if at all hurt the opposition. Explains a lot if that is enough to win MOM
I thought he played well. Comfortable on the ball. More offensively minded than usual. Definitely my mom.
Had a decent game. Williams was poor as was potts imo. Annoying that none of our midfielders or strikers(apart from mcburnie) can hit a shot at least on target. Thats what cost us tday, we should have been out of site before their equaliser. Mallan in for williams at weekend.
Yiadom was less than average when going forward in the first half. Gardner and Potts were good today. Ollie is a bit of class and Moore did his bit up front some of the time. Centre halves were ok. Davies looks as though he's in a race to the bottom with Townsend.
I thought Gardner was absolutely abject like he has been since he arrived. He's a master at passing sideways and backwards though.
I'm his absolute biggest critic and have been very harsh on his performances in recent weeks - but he had a good game today. Actually made some good forward passes and spread the play well. Put in some good tackles too. Went missing for about a ten minute spell leading up to their goal - along with the rest of our midfield unfortunately, but overall he was easily one of our best performers.
Lets be fair - I think we're arguing about who is the tallest dwarf in the circus - a decent side would have put Norwich to bed long before they grabbed the inevitable equaliser.
