    What's the ground?

First thought was Burnden Park but would we have played there in that era?

Hull. I’d just started Uni there so it was like a home game.

Imagine I'd have been there & we probably won. We always used to win at Boothferry Park!

Getting off topic a bit did Boothferry Park have a train platform under one of the stands?

Back when football was a contact sport. It’s absolute fairy dust these days which means legends like this man are an endangered species in the modern game.

Problem with him was that he spoke that quietly it looked like you were staring him out when concentrating to listen. Now, I may be a numbskull, but staring Malcolm shotton out isn’t my idea of a good keg

Think you're right, was behind one of them rather than under it, I think. Presume it was matchday only use?

My lad and myself went to that game. Pretty dour if I remember correctly.
Spotted one of our all time "greats" in the foreground to the right. One of my
personal favourite Reds, the late, great, incomparable Paul Futcher. Happy days.

That team was full of tough players. Shotton, Thomas, Futcher, Cooper. Ah those halcyon days!

Loved going there. One of worst away ends ever but we always used to win, so who cared.

The 4-3 win was most memorable for obvious reasons, but can remember Plummer scoring a winner into that end and David Currie running through and rounding the keeper - think John Deehan scored that day as well.

I miss those old football grounds. Groundhopping was much more rewarding then because they were all so different.
