Please could someone tell me that it's not just me who thinks he is absolutely abysmal. Just don't see what contribution he makes. Totally unfit and embarrassing for the fee paid. Got clean through on Tuesday night and kicked the floor!!!! Woeful

    I like him.

He is massively unfit, but he's one of our better players.

Based upon the several good crosses he put in today, from both sides of the pitch, which should have been converted, for one.

    I quite like him.

His build up play is quite good but he doesn’t ever look like scoring. His fitness levels are a way off too for some reason.

He might be decent in league 1 next year.

Not based on his innabilty to beat a man then, or his general ineffectiveness apart from one good cross.

Let's face it - he's doggo. I'd love it if he wasn't, but in 6 months he's done nothing.

Perhaps the club should apply to have his name changed.

I think he's generally got a decent touch and can put a half decent ball in in open play (not so much from set pieces). He just has no idea where the net is, and for a striker who we paid a hefty wack for, 1 goal from the penalty spot is not good enough.

Thiam is playing wide right and yet he’s often judged against the standard of a striker. He provides more assists and goal scoring opportunities than any of our other wide men yet he’s lambasted by the vast majority. It’s worth noting that he would’ve had another assist today had McBurnie’s header not been cleared off the line.

He draws the full back wide creating space for Moore off the central defender. He holds it up well and brings others into play. He wins the vast majority of headers that he’s tasked with competing for. He links up well with the full back.

I’m not sure what more someone would want to see from a wide man.

If Hammill, Isgrove, Hedges or Mahoney did all or most of the above then the vast majority would say that they’d had a blinder.

I think he’s the bad egg in the team. Thinks he’s bigger than the club and his performances leave a lot to be desired. Newcastle coach was present Tuesday night and he notched it up a gear, today, back to normal. He should never have been given the captaincy.

He’s a small battering ram of a player that’s effective when running through the middle while feeding off a taller striker.
He’s a useful player to have on the bench if a player is needed for that role.
But he isn’t a winger - which Jose is playing him in.
For every 5 crosses he sends into the middle he may just manage to get one right.
Totally wasted in that wing position.
He can’t take corners either on the evidence of today.

He can't beat a man. That's what I'd like to see in a wide man. Linking up with Yiadom was not a strong point today - they made a mess of it despite all our efforts today - Yiadom was left time after time stranded with the ball and not knowing what to do.

His shooting is chronic. Whether you judge him by a striker's standards or not. He can't replace Moore in the middle, otherwise Hecky or Morais would have noticed this.

"Draws the full back wide" means he sometimes stays on the wing.

His corners today were largely abysmal.

Thiam is not a winger, nor a traditional forward. Nor anything as yet.

You don’t offer any critique, you never do. He created several chances today and has done of late. What’s he doing wrong in your opinion?

The fact that he’s taking corners says more about the team’s lack of options than anything else.

When you talk of a winger beating a man it’s with a view to creating a chance. Thiam is creating chances. What’s the issue? I couldn’t care less if it’s by hook or by crook.

Mamadou Nill doesn't resemble a football player with any ability. Over a thousand minutes without an outfield goal. Today a couple of tame efforts straight at the keeper. At least he hit the target unlike his shot he should have buried against Norwich. Cost us a lot of money to be as effective as others through the years such as Don Goodman, Deon Burton, and Jon Walters. Even guys like Mike Sheron and Dave Regis gave us the occasional goal to celebrate. Fingers crossed a club is daft enough to offer us anywhere near what we wasted on him in the summer.
