Most of them were created at 2 nil down, as per usual. Millwall had as many if not more chances, most handed to them on a plate by inept defending. The performance as a whole was flat, lifeless and without a hint of urgency from first minute to last.
Their goalie pulled off a couple of decent saves in the 2nd half. Had one gone in then who knows. But if I'm honest at no point did i actually think we could get anything from the game and lets be reight here, millwall were gash but still left with a relatively easy win. I always try and stay positive when it comes to BFC but today i left oakwell resigned to our fate
Millwall weren't great, but they at least did the basics well and were a cohesive team where individuals knew their roles and knew what their teammates were doing. You know, a bit like we used to be.
The thing is, Millwall essentially packed up at 2-0 and were happy to soak up our attacks. They have experience and know-how. We once again started to dominate a game that was basically lost, whilst Millwall were content to hit us on the break. Odemyinya or whatever he's called should have had the third, but their attack was non existent for the final part of the game. They didn't need one, they'd got the game in their grasp and just had to see out the game. Ironically they did to us what Jose Morais seems to want to do to the opponents each week. Get a goal and defend well, holding on to a lead.
Yes. True, we had some good chances that could have become goals but our passing is terrible. Too many times we either pass it directly to the opposition or just give up chasing it. I'm sick of seeing players not attemping to reach balls that they easily could have had they had the desire to do so. The question I think to myself is 'If this would have been a cup final/relegation deciding game, would they have still have just watched it past like that?' and the answer is pretty much always no. They also need to speak to each other more, they never talk and consequently don't have a clue what each other is going to do and have no motivation when a quick well done, keep going etc. could help.
The one on one their lad had with the keeper was laughable. Townsend jumped out of 5he way and he still missed. Morrison’s miss in the first half was nearly as bad. We on the other hand were lucky to get nil.
We were embarrassing. The Millwall fans starting singing ‘you’re ******* shi.t’ at one point and a lot of voices around me joined in with ‘we’re ******* shi.t’. You could offer no argument. Even though it was tongue in cheek it was painfully true. We look like we have two or three players and a load of competition winners as filler. The manager fills me with no confidence at all, still no admission that we are at times woeful. Just that we create chances and are unlucky.
Great saves from their keeper? Tell me more - were they saves that the mighty Townsend would not have pulled off? I can't remember owt that my mother wouldn't have caught.
In a must win match, we were dire. We have little quality in the team. Mallan, who can at least hit a ball was taken off at half time & our best goalscorer was on the wing. We have few strengths, but we are not playing to any of them. Putting "top knot" on at half time showed for me we are lost. Absolute rubbish. Sorry to say it.
Yes, we were terrible. Stats don't tell a true story, a shot from 40 yds that goes 40 yds wide counts as a shot. Millwall were also terrible, shows what a poor division it is this year.
