Would you rather him do step overs on edge of the box then lose the ball and have 0 assists in 2000 minutes of football? Would that make him championship quality

Been watching him 7 months & I still don’t know whether he’s up to it or not.

The problem with Barnsley fans is they’re all like sheep, one person says something & the rest all jump on a bandwagon so Thiam will probably start getting dogs abuse because someone’s said he’s awful on here.

We’ve had it with Joe Williams, been our best central midfielder by a mile this season yet there’s been some sort of campaign mainly on Twitter & a bit on here to get him dropped for Stevie Mallan & we all know how that ended.

And then this Hammill, no goals, no assists thing. People need to start watching games with their eyes instead of just jumping on bandwagons.

Firstly it’s a lie, he set Potts up at Preston, secondly it might not be the league but he scored the goal that got us to Wembley to play Spurs & set a couple up in that game.

And last but not least people actually have to convert the chances, he’s delivered lots of quality crosses that we should’ve done better with, the previous manager was regularly talking about how players weren’t ‘attacking the box’ & how we needed to be better in both boxes. Surely we all remember Harvey Barnes missing a sitter of a header from Hammill’s cross?

Look how effective his crossing was for players like Winnall & Fletcher. Seems bizarre that now we get two strikers who can feed off crosses in McBurnie & Moore & we leave our best crosser rotting in the reserves.

I’m not saying he should definitely start but why he’s not in the squad is baffling me. Yesterday in the second half was the ideal time to go 4-4-2, move McBurnie alongside Moore & get some service to them through Hammill.

And Hammill’s the only winger we have that builds up any kind of partnership with a full back, plays 1-2’s with them to get round the full backs & actually tracks back instead of leaving his full back to get turned inside out by a winger.

Not far off his stats that to be fair. Trust you are another who rates him . I would like him to either score, miss the first defender with a corner, not clear everybody from a corner so the ball runs out of play at the other side of the field and when clean through on goal not kick the floor and miss the target by yards. Too much to ask if a 1 million Euro player?????

I think the wind was terrible and we have only Stevie Malian who can take a decent set piece hammills corners don't beat the 1st man. I just find it strange after yesturday watching Lindsay, pillinos,Potts, yiadom and townsend people go on about thiam!

They are all shocking. And most of OUR players are on long contracts. The fan experience this season at Oakwell has been horrendous

I thought he was our best player yesterday. Competed well. Crossed early and dangerously. Showed some fight.

More generally he has been poor. He has the attributes to succeed but will need lots of coaching in terms of movement and positioning if he is to do so. A poor signing imo.

I like him, one of our better players yesterday.

Held the ball up really well and never gets muscled off it. Has a very good touch, controlling it very well from Townsend goal kicks. Put it a few good crosses. He beat two men one after another late on and turned another in the box before getting a shot away. Obviously the critics have selective blindness, just because he’s not getting goals at the moment.
