Morsy did two mens work....was it birmingham at home (zolas first game) where we went down to 10 men and he was the most influential player on the pitch by a street mile. Ended up a draw.
Only on the BBS could you post a list of 22 current players, explaining how you view their future at the club and it turn into a debate on how good or not Sam Morsy was by the first reply.
I agree with this, fully. I honestly think we've got a strong league 1 squad. Given a nudge in the right direction and assuming sensible incremental development, with some additions we'd be better placed at Championship survival in the 2019/20 season.* *Three assumptions; (1) we're going down, (2) we don't dismantle the team, (3) we come back up.
Relegation to League One would be good for 'the plan'. It would add a '0' to some player values and continue our self sufficiency. Two seasons up and one down is the way forward
I think most of them are worth persisting with because I think the majority will improve due to been a year closer to their primes & having a years worth of championship football behind them. What we need is to move a couple on where we have a surplus e.g. central midfield & we need to strengthen the spine. A striker, two central midfielders & a goalkeeper would be my priority. Get championship quality in them positions & that for me is the spine sorted as I think our current central defenders are good enough.
