Not an issue.Renew with early bird irrespective of division. You've got to experience the lows to enjoy the highs.
Don't even have to think about it. I support Barnsley FC not the league we are in. Will buy when the early bird offer is released and will pick my away days no different to this season. Had the same conversation last night with one of the long distance reds who lives in Berkshire and makes the train journey for every Saturday game and we both agreed that the league we are in is a temporary state and like an earlier post said we have to accept the bad times to enjoy the good. Painful as it is at the minute our job is to continue to support and I accept that requires an element of toughing it out at times and this is one of them.
I get all that but if we are carrying on in the same vein (“doing the same thing and expecting different results” as someone once said) then surely it’s time to take stock. It’s an emotional decision and and emotional question.
Everyone will make their decision based on their own point of view and I don't for one minute expect everyone to agree with my thoughts but I hope once the emotions calm most will stick with it, anyone who decides not to hopefully won't be too long before the bug returns. The things we have in common is we are all reds fans, we all have opinions on how the club should be run and we all want the best for our club, long may that continue. Up the reds.
What's happened is a great shame. Our current home gates are the highest they've been for something like 16years. If we go down we'll lose out on away fans as well as some home fans. It's unbelievable that we didn't build on what we had achieved.
Agree We didn’t have the vision (or perhaps the desire) to do so. Instead basked in the success of the plan for too long and then followed it big style last summer
Nowt better to do on a Saturday afternoon or a Tuesday evening. I should get a life but thanks to my Dad (r.i.p.) I'm stuck with this affliction that is Barnsley FC. I'll be renewing and being a Yorkshireman (short arms and deep pockets) I'll take advantage of financial incentives to renew early.
Me and my lad renewing, choose what. Daughter's lost interest this season, but that her age and social life, not what happens on the pitch. My son's 12 and actually said he expects us to go down and is quite ok with the thought of it. I was just about to lift him out of his boots when he explained why. Would rather watch a high end League 1 club in a promotion battle than a low end Championship club in a relegation battle. Now this is obviously assuming we can be good enough to be 'high end' League 1 given that we've languished at the bottom of it little over two years ago. So, if we go down, Que sera, lower standard of opposition, probably smaller crowds, but maybe start seeing a winning team again which seems like a distant memory right now.
I'll be getting one assuming no ridiculous price increase. However if we stay up and our recruitment policy doesn't change I may have to reflect again in 12 months. I'm willing to give the new owners time and a chance.
You would like to think even if we slip to lower mid table we could manage more than 3 home wins. Mind you I'm sure Sunderland thought the same.
I'd be very surprised if the new regime keeps the category ticket system. It prices fans out and that isn't usually the philosophy elsewhere in the world of football.
I'm hoping for something radical mate. A ticketing plan that will really get the fans on board and make their minds up to renew.
There may not even be an Early Bird, or not as we've come to know it. It certainly will be interesting to see what the renewal terms will be.... I guess it'll be different.
It’s a no from me. A few seasons ago I witnessed us loose 1-0 to Leeds at Oakwell. The game was utter dross. Both teams were filled with journey men who were going through the motions. I thought that’s me done. Eventually the pain dulled and I returned and enjoyed watching us playing to try and win games. On Saturday I witnessed a game that was beyond dross with a team made up of young journey men who look resigned to relegation. I came out early not because I was cold but I was hurting so much from the performance that I couldn’t take seeing the traveling fans celebrating at the end. Due to the early kick off I started work 4 hours early to make sure I witnessed that load of rubbish. I am sick of early kick offs(although in league 1 this will not be problem). I could go on but I am getting wound up again, by the way I am normally a happy clapper
The result of this early kick off must have given Birmingham a boost as well. The same may happen on Good Friday as well, as Birmingham don't play until the following day.
