Hardly stuff to bring the club down. And I agree with the sentiment.

Pretty normal for a footballer's dad to want his son to play I'd think

More telling perhaps was the follow up stuff intimating that only Jason, Isgrove, Hammill and PInnock were the ones who tried every time they pulled on the shirt...

Play Yids at left back and get JM in at right back , he’s not the best defender but he brings pace going forward and he sets the tempo for the team . Let’s have a go ffs get Hammill and Izzy on the wings and big keef and oli up front . Four four two please Jose !

I like JM but I would actually say he has the least pace of all our FB's (not including Pearson)

Now that's controversial, I wouldn't knock any of them for non trying

We played McCarthy on the right side of a central three against Villa. He got hauled off at HT after being woefully ineffective at best, calamitous at worst.

McCarthy is excellent going forward with his pace, technical ability and tenacity but unfortunately he’s also incredibly raw and the defensive side of his game lets him down.

A lot has been made of Hammill’s partnership with McCarthy which I agree looked decent on paper and appeared to have all of the hallmarks of a successful RB/RM partnership but it simply didn’t deliver.

I’m not saying that it won’t deliver in the future as it’s horses for courses but in my opinion it’ll take more than the reinstatement of McCarthy’s Dad’s son at right back to save our season.

I thought McCarthy was rubbish whenever I saw him. Wouldn’t ever stop a cross coming into the box, got skinned a lot and rarely got a cross in himself

I saw that quite often too. Defending wise very weak - not unique to him like

That last verse should be changed to “he never gets to play a game!”
