if Adam is to play any part in our relegation battle, then surely he will be given some minutes today to get match fitness up, hope he is and sticks a couple in back of net, force Jose to put him back in team
You’d think so. As much as I like Hammill, he’s never really tore it up at Championship level. I think his level now, is League 1 - which was shown when we were promoted. Other teams couldn’t deal with him. He has a lot to offer us, on and off the field, but I don’t think he’s the Championship player some think he is - he may have been when younger, but not now. Either way, he deserves a crack at it like the rest of the team have been given. And I think he’ll get the chance after this current break.
A player with survival of a Championship relegation battle to his name sat int stands not even rarnd matchday squad. Great innit.
I find it very odd he is not even in match day squads. Feels like Jose is trying to make a point or something.
I don't think he's finished. He's only 30. People will throw the old 0 assists and 0 goals stat this year, but when he was in the team earlier in the season a lot of the crosses he put into the box were aimed at Bradshaw, who was usually completely isolated and marked by 2 giants. I'd get him back in.
When I saw the Millwall player cut in from the left and curl it in to the top corner with his right, I immediately thought of Adam. We haven't seen him do that in the Championship often enough, but part of that can be attributed to Kent, then Barnes taking his left wing spot, part can be down to not having a good overlapping left back since White left and part can be attributed to better opposition. Having said all that, I'd love to see him back on the left for the final few games, we miss him.
Yeah, quite a few reasons for it as you say - another is that defenders in the Champ are tighter on him and of better quality than L1. He’s a marked man for BFC - if he starts, then folk know to double up on him and he’ll be quiet then subbed. Happens to all key players from clubs - it’s then when you see just how good they are. Players like Sanchez move around the pitch so much and have the skill to be unmarkable. He’s still got a lot to offer to us, on and off the pitch. And if we do go down, we’ll deffo need him next year!
It was suggested that Morais likes his allegorical stories and told one about a cat and a saucer of milk. So when Hammill saw him next he started miawing at him. A bit childish maybe but surely just a bit of fun - Morais didn’t take kindly to it so has frozen him out
If only there were a claws in Hammill's contract stating that he had to play. He'll be feline disappointed that there isn't.
Daft on both sides. You can’t expect to take the piss out of guy you don’t know, especially your manager, and presume you’ll get way with it. Factor in he’s Portuguese, so sarcasm may not be fully understood in the way it’s meant. Should he be dropped for a game or two - maybe - to set the standard. A cash fine makes little difference these days. Should that continue after that - probably not if Hammill has apologised and shown the right attitude since. You’d have to be present when it happened to get the full idea what’s right and what’s not right.
If that is true, then it is pathetic. I can understand trying to prove a point, but not at this stage of the campaign. Adam is one of our most experienced Championship players, and to freeze him out in a relegation battle is childish.
