For comparison, and because I'm bored at work...after 38 games our much lauded 13/14 side, containing such legends as Emmanuel Frimpong, Brek Shea, Tom Kennedy, Jean Yves M'voto...had scraped 35 points. They were 5 points adrift of safety at that point.

In the same amount of games, our current bunch have managed 33 and are above the bottom 3 by virtue of Sunderland, Burton et al being even worse.

We need 7 points from our remaining 8 games to pass the points total (39) one of the worst Barnsley teams of all time gained that season, and that might even keep us up. Can we do it? It's going to be interesting and hopefully not depressing finding out.

It looks very unlikely that we'll get 7 more points by Christmas time !
A home win though would be very welcome indeed, mostly cos I'm sick of my 100 mile round trip to see garbage and an inevitable defeat.

The only thing we can say about this team compared to that one is that I think this set of players are more honest. Ability wise they're as bad if not worse.

Just glad I didnt miss the Birmingham home game otherwise I think I'd have forgotten what a win was like ( missed all the away wins for various reasons)

Not so sure on that - apart from Fringpong who had the ability but was a disgrace
No idea about the ability of Brek Shea i think he was poor and didnt try either
The likes of M'Voto and Kennedy tried but no way were they as good as the players we have available for those positions now

The number of games won and the points tally say they're as bad. I don't think Kennedy tried by the way. He's up there as one of my most disliked players.

M'Voto would compete with our back four

I’d say O’Grady was a better player than Moore. Cranie better than our current centre halves. Steele a better keeper. It would be a close thing to be fair.

The midfield in 13/14 was just as bad. Try picking two central midfielders from Dawson, Lawrence, Digby, Mellis, Frimpong, Woods and Etuhu.
