    Get the feeling he's fallen out of love with football. I bumped into him at last year's Open at Royal Birkdale and he said his Barnsley contract had expired at the end of June and was deciding what to do next. Didn't appreciate his thoughts would have even contemplated a future out of the pro game. Decent player first time around with us, confidence looked shot in his last spell.

    Yes. Will have made a bob or two. Maybe didn't have that cutting edge ambition to push him forward. Family & steady comfortable life is what many would dream of.

    Is a shame nothing came of his career after such a promising start to it. Seems like he peaked in his early twenties.

    I was told he was suffering from depression. If true I have every sympathy for him.
