But extremely disappointed and frustrated with the result. After the last home game against Millwall, I said the team looked devoid of confidence and accepting inevitable relegation. Today those players rammed my words back down my throat. We made Bristol City (who earlier this season did exceptionally well against both Manchester clubs in the League Cup) look very ordinary indeed. In my opinion, we played a better quality of football & showed a higher level of commitment than we've seen for months. I thought Moore, Moncur & Gardner had their best games in a Barnsley shirt. Both Moore & Potts took their goals extremely well. If we can perform to that standard for the remaining games, I don't think we'll be relegated. I'm keeping my views of the referee to myself. That way, Gally won't ban me for my language! Unfortunately for those sat near me, they weren't so lucky. Well done lads. Keep up today's good work for the rest of the season.
Problem is we don’t know how to win. Should have won comfortably today but again contrived to snatch a draw from the jaws of victory. It’s not for want of trying but we miss too many chances and opponents seem to score with every shot on target. It’s demoralising as a fan it must be worse for the players. It’s sad but but I think we have a relegation feel to us
Totally agree - Gardner was a total revelation for me - if he produced that week in week out I'd buy him - maybe him and Williams are like a pound shop Lampard and Gerrard for England? They can't play together. I thought Moncur had a great game along with Moore and Potts - I'd probably start Hammill infront of Isgrove and anyone at left back rather than Fryers who was poor. My only gripe is the same old question - why do we change tactics when we go ahead? Its happened too many times now - we need to just carry on playing the same way that got us the goal and not revert to holding on, its so frustrating.
It’s not that simple - up to us scoring the second they were happy to piss about at the back, as soon as we scored they started booting it forward and pushing more men up
Totally with you Mr BigLil. The effort from our lads couldn't be faulted today. With just a smidgin of luck they would have taken all three points. Keiffer Moore was absolutely immense. A towering and highly praiseworthy performance. I fear that the result may not be enough at this stage - particularly if Birmingham beat Ipswich tomorrow. But I'm not going to crib our lot for their effort today.
Enjoyed the game today, and the best 90 minutes we've played for months. I said myself after Millwall that the performance and body language of the team had relegation written all over it. Today gives renewed hope and optimism and both supporters and players should take a lot from today. The extra two points would have been brilliant but if the side can take some confidence from today into the remaining games, I'd agree we can survive.
