Throughout the course of the season. While I agree to an extent, shouldn't we just be thankful we're still in with a fighting chance of staying up and not cut adrift at the bottom. There are some god awful sides in the championship (us included) and when results have gone our way we just haven't capitalised often enough. How we managed to stay out of the bottom three for so long given our awful form was incredible. Saturday's game is absolutely massive now and putting everything else aside we need to give the team our full backing, anything other than three points and I can't see us staying up.
Think you've hinted at this but we've been outstandingly lucky with just how poor the likes of Burton, Sunderland, Bolton etc. have been this season. We've certainly not had a great deal of luck in some games (I wouldn't count tonight though as we just sounded lacklustre) but over the course of the season we absolutely deserve to be where we are.
Yep you're right. Saturday is a must win no doubt about that. Bolton still have Burton away & Forest at home that you've got to expect them to win.
It's now down to desire over luck. Versus Bolton on Saturday it's a case of which group of players want it more. At this stage, our destiny is in our own hands. Can't afford to buckle now.
Last season, 37 points with 5 games left would have been eight points from safety (ie pretty much down) with only Rotherham below.
