Perhaps no more than showing a bit of unity with team and fans through this very crucial last phase of the season
Hopefully be video footage of his paddy later. Quiting after beating his hometown club. Couldn't hack it just a couple more games. At the weekend they were linked to Dan Crowley and Jack Ross. The talent poor of possible managers seems really low in the UK.
Absolutely baffling one that. Can only assume he has a new job lined up, WBA? Seen Leeds a fair bit but for how much people reckon he goes on about not wanting to lose the Barnsley fans, you’d assume he’d not beat us with Ipswich, go to a rival in Leeds and get us relegated there. Could have done us a favour and given us the 3 pts tonight
Maybe he weren't happy that he may have just helped send us down and the Ipswich fans, who he got the win for, are booing him.
Not all Ipswich fans but about half of them are idiots, whinging about style of play when the budgets been cut every season. What do you expect? How many flair players are knocking about as free agents? McCarthy’s had to rebuild from when Keane spent all the owners money on mainly free’s & loanees paying wages only better than a handful of clubs at this level. If they’ve got issues they should take them up with the owner for not backing the manager or for not selling the club. I hope they get relegated next year & I reckon there’s a good chance they do
I reckon if they had lost he would have stayed. Leaves having won, showing his professionalism to the end. Those fans I suspect will regret forcing him out. Mick still has one decent project left in him.
Three-quarters of the way in he says "I'd do anything for the Barnsley lads and they'd do anything for me." Is he dropping a big hint or what? He's now a free agent remember so he can start tomorrow if we want him badly enough!
One would have to say, should we go down, the one thing that would stop the rot with the fans would be easy to identify. Whether it can be done?
