So what’s wrong with the Labour Party now then, given it’s now much closer to that seen in the 70’s and 80’s?

Fair enough , I worked at Brodsworth main and also had a year on strike . Managed with an aging dad who’d just had a brain haemorrhageon on a pound a day picketing money . So I paid my dues and I’m allowed an opinion , I’ve never voted conservative but I’d never vote for a party that has people like Abbott Corbyn and McDonald on the front bench !

Get thi head art of the clouds Redstar and look at the evidence and today's independent assessment of the nerve agent used . Your judgment is influenced by your hatred of the Tories and it shouldn't. Truth is just the bloody truth sometimes .

Again the word ‘Think’ How can anyone be confident of anything when Buffoon Boris tells the world that somebody has said something that that person didn’t say.

Why would expert assassins use a murder weapon that can be traced back to them (and fail in their mission...007esque ). Might as well have left fingerprints, cctv etc. If it was my regime planning it I would use something untraceable or something traceable to someone else .

Don't forget, if these insinuations are to be believed and the Russian government ordered an assassination then I am sure they would have come up with a better plan than this.

Not to say it wasn't someone Russian though with other motives.

You really think so ? The north London set ? You’re so far out it’s untrue . You see in those days we had morals , a work ethic , respect and ideas and a future . Now we have Abbott corbyn and the delightful John McDonald and the politics of envy and hatred . Nobody I worked with would give those fookers the time of day let alone vote for em !

Not saying it was or wasn't until proved, just saying if it was then it was pretty incompetent in carrying it out.

We can argue the toss about it all we like on here. Major Dan will get in in Barnsley come what may - and I would guess that he detests Corbyn. But Corbyn will by now have scared off the very small number of voters in a very small number of constituencies that he would need to win to ever get into No 10. As far as my poor guess goes, we have had peak Corbyn. A more moderate outlook and a broader appeal would be needed for Labour to get back into power - if it remains one party.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t have an opinion. Sorry to hear about your dad. They were hard days for most, my dad and 2 brothers were also Miners. I was just pointing out that Northerners and ordinary working folk voted and supported Tories back then. Corbyn’s Labour Party has much more in common with Labour back then, than New Labour ever was.

The problem is New Labour and Blair were seen as moderates and became watered down Tories. Corbyn at least would prevent this from happening.

New labour didn’t exist in the 80’s . They were the dark days of kinnock and Michael foot . If we can have differences of opinion but stay civil and have healthy debate then I’m all for it but I’m not holding my breath . Anyroad UTR

Bliar wasn’t in the 80’s and the untimely death of John Smith deprived us of a great leader as for that ***** kinnock just look at his offspring to know what a disaster he would have been as PM

It’s nowt to do with my opinion of the Tories

I haven’t seen any assessment of the nerve agent today - if it’s giving conclusive proof it was carried out by Russia then they should be condemned and real action should be taken like freezing the assets of emigres close to Putin.

What does a more moderate outlook actually mean? What policy do they have that you consider not to be “moderate”?

We all know “moderate” is code for “Tory-Lite”.

John Smith would have been closer politically to Corbyn than Blair

im a little confused. can you explain as id have though a labour party under jeremy was far more aligned with the labour of the 80's than lets say tony blairs 90's version?

or are they not far enough on the edge and youd like to see derek hatton running the show?
