I've got a bloody great big box of hundreds of BFC programmes, home and away, dating back to the 60s up to a few seasons ago, including the Premiership promotion season and our 1 season up there. I've been "informed" that they are "in the way" so I have to find a home for them.

Can anyone put me in touch with a historian or museum or whatever that might be interested? Don't want anything for them but I'd prefer them to end up somewhere where I and others could still view them, don't want them to end up in an attic somewhere.

    Any clues?

Does the museum in the town hall still have a Barnsley F.C. section

Mine are currently under the bed. I keep saying I'll scan some of the pictures and post them on here but never seem to get round to it.
It's a shame there's no BFC museum. It would be a good resource to have an archive of all the BFC programmes going back over the years.

What a fantastic idea, I honestly never thought of that. It would be a huge task, but worth it. We could have a BBS party in the summer - bring a bottle, scanner and memory stick.

I'll contact them and ask but my collection would fill the place.

Contact Mark Levitt in the Archives. Mark may be able to advise on storage and/or display.

Please let me know how you get on because it’s probably a good time to relinquish my collection.

Ahhhggh! I might have to have a bit of a delve this week. See if there's anything of interest.

I've had to hide mine away from the Present Mrs East Grinstead Tyke as she likes to declutter obsessively.... Many of them are now 40 years old from the promotion from the fourth division season so I'm determined to hang onto them.

Cheers will do. I like the scanning idea though.

The older the prog the more valuable they are .
And you have the added value of oppositions that have gone out of the football league .
I am no expert but tread carefully .

Thanks all, eventually I'll get round to sorting them out and scanning them, then I'll message people who are interested. But for now, I'm busy testing the settee to check it still works. It's been a magnificent but strenuous weekend.

I asked that on here as well recently, about my home programmes which cover almost all of our home games between 1980-2014.
Who really pays for these nowadays though, they are getting more and more expensive and I just fell out of interest when it came to collecting them.
I have all the '96-7 promotion season homes and loads of ticket stubs from those games as well, but I bet they would only bring about a quid each at the most!!. :(
