Bolton are the worst team he's seen this season, said it would've been a total travesty had they won & McBurnie's goal could prove to be a massive one come the end of the season. "Bolton have a very tough run in and if Barnsley don't let their heads fall, there's no reason why they can't avoid the drop" was another of his comments. I'll not say what he thought of the referee, or the penalty he awarded. Suffice to say, I agreed with him. A big thanks to Neil for his time and for cheering me up, as I was somewhat lugubrious after the match. He was a thoroughly decent, friendly bloke.
The fact that both Bolton and Birmingham have a harder run in than us is the only reason I feel we could still avoid the drop. But the main reason I think we will drop is.. we huff n puff, but we still don't win games. All about the wins..
It was the most inept referee decision. To not give the Moore penalty and to give theirs.... The FA should suspend that referee until a full investigation has taken place. He is clearly either incompetent or corrupt. But we had our chances not to need to blame a referee. Wins against Leeds, Forest and Brentford should see us safe
He was a disgrace, I doubt he has a pulse... He will be back at the day job on Monday.... Toilet attendant in Bolton town centre
I actually think a draw was fair. We created little after our goal and they came out and pressured us second half. However, they were a thuggish team and the ref was an utter disgrace throughout, constantly ignoring their antics then handing them a nonsense penalty while ignoring our claims down the other end.
Refereeing IS his day job. He's a professional referee, one of the best in the country. Which is why we have NO officials going to Russia.
Thats good to hear if Neil Mellor really thinks that and I hope hes proved right of course!. It was an appalling penalty decision and the ref seemed desperate to give it, but why are we not surprised anymore when it happens. Fingers crossed that Bolton & Birmingham's remaining games will prove to be tough for them, but it still doesnt change what we already know... we've GOT to win some of our own matches.
