How much preparation do you need to buy a player? . We didn't have time for a full scouting appraisal , we had to be decisive but we weren't. Remember we're just a small page in their portfolio that can be ripped out and chucked away at any point .
I see no evidence for the latter assertion. For the former, you have to be be continually looking at players and talking to agents and clubs. All put on hold cos it was going to be someone else’s problem
' hey up Oxford how much do you want for your goalie '? . ' a million quid' ' yes we'll have him ' ' cheers. ' Simon Eastwood do you want to double your wages and play for Barnsley '? "Yes please " ' sign here '.
Well they wasn’t going to Say we interview joe bloggs and he didn’t want it so we went for Jose... it’s called marketing
Come on Redstar, I'm not saying you have to agree with everything Patrick did because he's no longer with us, far from it, but the second part of that sentence is a disgrace. I think it is incredibly unfair to make out that he put things on hold just because it was going to be someone else's problem as if he didn't care about the club. He was suffering from a painful and wasting illness that was killing him and will have had many things to sort out, not just Barnsley FC. I do not believe that if he had been fit and well and selling the club he would have decided to not give a crap just because it was going to be someone else's problem soon, he was a fan after all. That sounds like the attitude of a lazy, self serving person who doesn't care about BFC, which I don't believe Patrick was.
