Pretty sad. Think it was the booze by the sounds of it. Not really a fan of his music, but he was popular with the EDM crowd.
If you put Mozart, Beethoven, Lennon, McCartney and Dylan together you get composers who combined, are about 10% of the quality of Avicii.
Has he actually written a song? If so, can you point me to his best work, I'd like to do a comparison.
Ha ha. I take it you disagree? Let me continue, just for healthy discussion of course otherwise we’ll have to talk about the sh*t football! I’m 54, always loved music but you know that thing about loving the music you grew up with. What a load of cobblers. The greatest period for (popular) music is 2012-16. Extraordinary time. And largely due to the fact that EDM reached its peak. Truly amazing. I look back at the 70s, 80s, 90s and.....oh dear....
Just to clarify this for me - cos' I'm a little confused. You're talking about the guy who remixes country and western songs.... Don't want to speak ill of the dead like - cos he had acheived a tonne of stuff in his short life - certainly more than I have - but the guy who didn't even compose his song Hey Brother - better than Mozart....just checking we're talking about the the same bloke.
No need to shout. You aren't blind so can see who he is has been explained in the thread before you made that post. Even if it hadn't I'm sure you have access to Google.
When his songs have sold as many as Lennon / McCartney's or when his stuff is still renowned around the world 200 years after he died then we can have the discussion. I am not a fan of any of them that you mentioned. But even so, I can still see their genius. So even though you're clearly a fan of this bloke (I have to concede I have no idea who he is), I would still suggest your 10% comparison is a crock of sh.t. Sorry
I get that. But let’s not necessarily equate sales with Quality. I give u the Bee Gees, Queen and Michael Jackson.
You might not agree but all 3 regularly feature in greatest song/album of all time lists. As a composer, I doubt Avicili would rate in the top 5 of this decade.
Seriously?? Bit dismissive and disrespectful that. To save me wading through his album fillers just point me at one of the good ones he's written. I might like it, you never know.
Sounds self inflicted but 28 is no age so RIP and all that, but I am assuming you are on the wind up of the century.
