Well - you couldn't fault Lee Johnson for that. Leaving the club he supported as a boy given that he's now obviously outgrown the club...which has shown him such loyalty through some fairly pants performances. Happens all the time.
If this comes off you would have to admire whatever it is he seems to have that allows him to pull off this trick. It would be his third upward career move in 5 years without actually achieving anything, and with a consistent tendancy to go on bad runs lasting a third of a season at a time. Some going that.
They should do but I don't think they will. Johnson would be a terrible appointment. Needs to prove himself at Bristol yet. Has achieved diddly-squat.
Then the sacked Heckingbottom to take over at Bristol. He's has a track record of doing well with little Lee's players
Achieved diddly squat while spending a lot of money too. Had Bristol 2nd in the league at one point and they've fallen away badly.
Trouble with these "bright young managers" like Johnson and Hecky, is that they're lauded by the press and pundits before they've achieved anything noteworthy, and in turn they talk like they've been there and done it. Both Hecky and the dwarf were furnished with a superb set of players that were too good for the majority of league one, hence why they were subject to offers from bigger clubs. Johnson is bang average and hides behind ********, and Hecky is worse, but blames everyone but himself. Both are on money that is an absolute insult to the paying fan. Pinching a living the pair of them.
Yes mid table is poor given their position earlier in the season and the budget. Probably in a similar position to Hecky. One of our own that isn't going great. May jump ship B4 he gets the boot.
