    Watkins wanted out last January he handed a transfer request unless we were going to pay him 20k a week it was a no go. No one has said he forced Roberts out. And the competition to sign scowern was great Huddersfield were also after him but he wanted to move down south to be closer to family.
    You can't really play the hecky had players forced on him card. As he also said when moving to Leeds he just wanted to coach not be looking at players in his time off. Leeds have the bloke who was at boro who picks the players.

    Morais has been disastrous at every club he’s been at as a head coach never lasting more than a single season and that just might show that he’s Mourinho’s mate, so was given any position to get him on the payroll.

    This is why I vented at the owners because they have gambled with our Championship status by bringing in an unknown with a record as piss poor as Odejayi’s goals to games ratio and who has been fired more times than Rambo’s machine gun.

    Anyone who thinks Hecky or Johnson had a say in identifying players has clearly paid no attention to how tbe club operates over the last 3 years. The spreadsheet chooses the players the manager can choose to do further scouting on those players they cannot suggest players of their own but can accept reject those recommended. In the final analysis the buck stops with the HC as they have the final say but if the spreadsheet points you to 456788 number 10s and no other players unless you want to play the u23s then in reality you have little choice.

    Re the new owners.

    I wanted them. Others were more cautious but we needed someone with some financial clout, ambition and imagination and as far as I know, no one else was in the picture.

    I just think they've come in a year too late to pick up the baton and run with it. Attendances are at a long time high and could have improved further, but things being as perilous as they are, it's a lot more hard work than they would have had to do.

    Time will tell I suppose. We could be in a much better place in a few years, or we could have banners around the ground asking them to leave.

    Yes shame it didn't point us out another 10 goalkeepers. Buiscut fingers could have had a rest then.
    I don't think they Identyfied the players but when hecky is saying things like we watched ugbo alot for the 23s last season and believe he can score at this level. He did further scout these players identified and gave the final say. The spreadsheet highlighted Conor, Sam and scowen Wilson took alot of credit by some on here for those. When you sign the not so good players you can't just hide behind the spreadsheet.
    Mind you I don't think Conor Sam or josh could have jumped straight from league 2 and competed in the championship. It's alot to ask for young lads to go from playing Grimsby and mansfield to villa and Fulham week in week out. Been thrown in at deep end Conor Sam josh and the rest all had at least a season in league one to bridge the gap.

    True or not we shouldn't have pinned our hopes on a last minute loan. As already said hecky got rid of Payne who he deemed not good enough and brought in ugbo.
