I think Jose has to go as there is so much anti-Jose feeling it’s untrue meaning his position is virtually untenable. 16 games. Is that our shortest permanent manager ever? The man who took over from Paul Heckingbottom was always on a hiding to nothing, not just because of the quality of the team and the confidence of the players but also because fans by and large backed him and when he pissed off they were hurt and don’t want to afford time or context again. I know I felt that way when he went.
I can't get my head round how many people were quite happy to watch the rubbish hecky was producing but after 3 months of arguably better football they want Jose out.... The foundations were laid long before he came in and he deserves the summer to build his own team before he is written off whichever division we are in.
He's got to be one of the most unpopular managers we have ever had, hasn't he? I can't remember anyone that had so many fans against him after such a short space of time...
Yep, must be. I commented at half time against Burton that he could only do better and by and large we have done although results haven’t been great. It was always going to be hard for the one that followed Paul Heckingbottom given there was so much anger at his departure and what had gone before
I wish we had appointed someone short term a tub thumper a la Flitcroft and then appointed Jose in the close season. Even though he’s a bit barking I think he would have been more able to succeed on that basis as it is he’s a hiding to nothing.
Nope, my own negative comments about Jose have absolutely sod all to do with Hecky to be honest. I think Ive made it clear that I wasn't a fan of Hecky anymore and I thought he was taking us backwards actually, and we were certainly going down with a whimper under him. While I agree sacking Jose this soon would be unfair and I don't want to see it happen, hes fallen short of what was asked of him hasn't he. And that was to keep us up and to always give us the best possible chances of staying up. And I don't think hes done either because hes doing the same tinkering baffling stuff that Hecky did (and was allowed to get away with doing for far too long).
What were most of us fans saying before LJs appointment? Summat like "nobody decent will come here if we have a reputation for sacking managers every two minutes" There's a bit of a communication problem, I believe , and he has had to follow that so-called 'one-of-our-own'. He deserves a transfer window, for me, at the very least.
If we go down then IMO he has to go, I just don't think he would be the right person to manage us in League One. I think a lot of people (wrongly) would hold him fully responsible for the relegation without accepting the other more significant contributing factors. As you point out above, the person following Hecky was always on a hiding to to nothing but never have I seen a fan base turn on the manager/coach so quickly. That said some of the comments towards Morrais on here and social media outlets have been out of order. Some people hold him responsible for the players lack of fitness, I suppose it's also his fault Moore missed a sitter at the weekend and other very good chances in the games prior to that. It must also be his fault our goalkeepers are cack and costing us a goal per game despite the board's failure to sign a new goalkeeper in January. In summary, if we do go down then yes Morrais will have to take his share of the responsibility for the failure and I think both parties will come to a mutual agreement to terminate his contract. However, that responsibility should be no more than the previous coaching team and certainly the previous board who's player recruitment was nothing short of a shambles.
Unfortunately , Jose is copping the frustrations of the fanbase which have been steadily brewing since january 17, & relegation would be the final straw for many , therefore , as always when people are upset they lash out & Jose rightly or wrongly will be first in the firing line . Personally , I feel sorry for the guy but when relegation comes along , fans are unforgiving
So, better football, more goals, more points over the 12 games than hecky did is his last 12...and you're already getting shut? This board is nuts.
He's cost us more points with his baffling selections and subs than hes got us and for that reason alone he should go nowt to do with Judas snakebottom
Totally agree. This was my point. Hecky shafted the loyal fans, few want to pin any blame on Cryne so here’s Jose
It really isn’t. I’m saying that the amount of anti-Jose sentiment out there now before we’ve been relegated is huge and will only worsen if we go down He’s at fault by proxy, by and large.
Actually Vesp, even I understand what Fidel/Redstar is saying here and its NOT a Jose out type thread. He actually tries to defend the bloke on here as far as I can see.
Fair enough, but starting a post with " I think Jose has to go" is just another very subtle (and quite cleverly written) "Jose out" post... Maybe I just need some beer...and some food... I'm going to get some beer and some food.
I am to a degree. I think he’s got quite a bit wrong but we are devoid of quality despite what people claim and the job is hard
