where we go into the final day of the season only needing to draw. If we aren't safe (which would only happen if we win tonight and Saturday and Bolton don't beat Burton) and we aren't relegated then we will need to go to Derby and win to guarantee safety. I was resigned to relegation but I'm now torturing myself looking at all the possibilities
Stop worrying yourself about it , we’re down . I’ve got no confidence that this set of players can go to the city ground and win ( whilst all the time keeping my fingers crossed) UTR
Much will depend on whether Derby have a chance of the play offs, because it will go to the last game.
If we win tonight- we go 3 points ahead of Burton and one ahead of Bolton. If we win against Brentford and Burton beat Bolton on Saturday- we go 4 in front of Bolton and stay 3 in front of Burton. We would be guaranteed safety win, draw, or lose against Derby seen as we have the goal difference. This won't happen though lets be real.
There are permutations where on the last day a draw may be enough depending on other results though. Its possible we might get to injury time where the Bolton and Burton games have finished and a Draw is enough for both Derby and Barnsley to achieve their goals and we get some none football like at Huddersfield - though the odds arnt good Only going to worry about that if we get there though.
And if we lose tonight and on Saturday and Bolton win we are down most likely we will go into the last game needing a win at Derby and hoping other results go our way
If we win our next 2 Burton are down due to goal difference. I know it's crazy talk but Burton fans will be worried just like we would the other way round.
Actually there are several possibilities where a draw would be sufficient on the last day. We could actually draw our remaining 3 games and be safe, with Bolton going down on GD
We've been absolutely sh*te since January 2017, the amazing thing is that survival is still technically in our hands, whoever finishes 4th bottom will do it with a record low points tally surely?
