At the four clubs he’s managed prior to Barnsley José Morais has lasted 19, 7, 28 and 14 games respectively. I can see a trend emerging...
He left us outside the drop zone with one of the best strikers in the league just joining. The rest of the squad have got worse under Morais with the exceptions of probably Potts & Yiadom.
We played like a team of disinterested strangers this evening. Little effort or cohesion. Messing round with the back 5 was a catastrophic error and caused uncertainty and too much dithering. The players played like they didn’t care for the manager or what happens. When it gets to that stage you are screwed.
When you look now at his CV and match record it is below average at everywhere he's been except one Algerian or Tunisian team or something, his last club AEK have climbed 11 places to top of league since he left with majority of same players
I could understand all the hyperbole for him if he’d come with a great record but his record is abismal and his short time here has been a car crash. The sooner he’s sacked the better for me. Get the legends already in the club in charge for the last two games and just hope for some kind of reaction from the players. Whatever happens we need a decent experienced manager in ASAP ready to build for most likely league one and to hit the ground running in August.
Because jose is **** doesn't make hecky good. Football was awful we were outside the drop because brum and hull couldn't buy a win they picked up we stayed same.
That speaks volumes. I don't usually advocate chopping and changing managers, but this is an experiment that has clearly failed. Get rid now. Two wins and we will almost certainly survive. Nothing to lose now.
By not playing pinnock or McCarthy or pearson before slow overweight pinillos. For six games isolating mcburnie on the left wing basically contributing nowt for large parts of games hasn't helped.
We have gotten worse. We rolled over last night without even a vague semblance of a fight. I don’t believe that we would have say lost to Burton under Heckingbottom. That isn’t to say the lSt few months under Heckingbottom were good just that we have got considerably worse and he had kept us out of the bottom 3 with a worse side all season.
I know the feeling reading away under hecky losing 3 nowt to a piss poor side. Taking gus off at half time. I didn't want jose in the 1st place but like I said under hecky we were only 5th bottom because of hull and brum been so poor. They have picked up form. We haven't simple as that we have lost joe Williams, if we had kept Harvey barnes we would have been a better team. I don't believe we would have beaten sheff united under hecky. I think We were going down under him we are anyway because we have replaced him with a unproven manager when these young players needed a older head who knew the English leagues. Hecky isn't a great manager he ended Leeds play off push in a few straight defeats, just jose is not the man to keep us up.
The truth is people are bitter about Heckingbottom leaving it clouds their judgement. I would lay blame at his door for creating a team so completely devoid of talent despite the limitations of the recruitment process. I would praise him for squeezing pretty much every last inch out of that squad. To keep it out of the bottom 3 all season was nothing short of a miracle.
It's not even 'emperor's new clothes', we can all see that he's wearing none. He's taken a bunch of promising young players and turned them into the worst and most unfit group of individuals in the league.
We started the season pretty well though but after the draw away at Norwich we went on a massive losing streak which lasted untll he left and if it wasn't for Birmingham and hull been awful we would have been bottom 3 I like many others were critical before he left ask @Redstar of his football, changing players constantly and playing players out of position. Jury Is still well and truly out for hecky as a manager. Going forward if we are carrying on with a young squad I'd like to see a older manager to guide them.
At the end of day I don’t believe anyone on here can honestly say that the team Hecky had should’ve been outside the bottom 3 given we had no McBurnie or Moore & all the injuries. Think people are letting the Judas stuff cloud their judgement
All opinions I suppose moore took a right hammering on here and social media after the Leeds game. Deeming Payne not good enough and bringing in ugbo and not bringing anyone else in cost us 1st half of the season. Joe williams has been injured since after Burton isgrove and Jackson both been injured. I'm not letting no Judas stuff cloud my judgement but I'm not letting the one of our own cloud it either. We were on a poor poor run of performance and results under hecky only kept out of the bottom 3 by others failing to pick up points. They was no evidence this would change can't rely on other all season. Jose was the wrong appointment.
I get the impression that JoMo doesn't really rate any of this bunch of players, and I think the players are responding to that in the way they deem fit, rightly or wrongly. Pure conjecture on my part. If the players don't like him then they sure aren't going to play their hearts out for him, and I think that's what we've seen. I do seem like one of the very few here that would like to see him here next season after being given a transfer window, and a chance to reshape the squad his way.
I can kinda understand that mentality if we where mid table. But for the position we are now in it’s got bigger ramifications on wages/deals staff at the club etc. Daftest thing ever for a player not to put the effort in because really they are cheating the fans and themselves ultimately.
I agree it's really daft, but it seems to happen pretty frequently at various clubs everywhere. Whatever has happened, players always seem to get a deal somewhere, despite a perceived lack of effort at the former club. What they don't seem to realise is that if they didn't act that way then they may get a better move / wage.
