    He just sounds utterly lost.

It's just a nothing event. No hint of passion. I can excuse some of the lost in translation quirks but there is never anything said in manner or tone that ever convinces me he really cares or is even enthused by the challenge he faces - let alone having an idea of how to tackle it.

He baffles me, he's obviously not unintelligent but I do wonder if his heart is in it.

I think Jose thought that with his experience and knowledge he could take this team to safety. He's now realised there isn't enough quality in the side.

He’s got very little experience or knowledge and his managerial history shows that.

You can't have it both ways.Slagging the manager off but ignoring the qualities and heart of some of the players.

Ive stated the players have been abysmal all season. It just so happens Morais has had the thing we’ve been crying out for, a high quality striker, and things have got worse. His record is garbage and from his time here you can see why.

We’re setting a dangerous precedent here as a lot of things that are being used to beat Morais with were let slide under the Heckingbottom, Johnson and Wilson regimes.

“Changing his team unnecessarily?! Get Morais out...”

Didn’t Heckingbottom do exactly that against Cardiff in the midst of an excellent run?

For me that was the start of our downward turn and I mentioned it at the time.A team bang on form with 6 changes the next game and we never recovered from it.

Yes but not all of us have been part of the Hecky love fest either this season, I can assure you of that.
Changes for the right reasons are acceptable and they're even forced on us sometimes. But no team can expect to learn anything and improve when the boss makes the idiotic amount of changes that Jose has been making.

The confidence the team must have felt after playing Norwich off the park and coming away with a very decent only for 6 of them to be replaced for the game against Cardiff was criminal.I feel Joses changes are made trying to get a winning formula something unfortunately he hasn't had time enough time to do.
I was a great Hecky fan and his successes shouldn't be undermined but in my opinion he must shoulder the greatest share of the blame unlike Jose who's been here 13 games. In my opinion the damage was already done.

Whatever you change you decide on your best back 5 and stick to it. You build understanding and confidence from the back. You don’t chop and change your back line every game otherwise as they have proven they play like strangers. You solidify make yourself hard to best then can fanny about as much as you like with the rest of the side. You certainly didn’t not go into your most important game of the season and change 4 out of 5. Absolute madness.

NB - This is for balance only re Morais’ changes.

Morais set his stall out that he wanted to play a 4-3-3 with Moore central and McBurnie as a LF. We beat Birmingham, drew against Hull and Norwich and would’ve beat Bristol had it not been for individual errors. However, his selection on here and elsewhere was heavily criticised as not only did he play McBurnie LF but he played Thiam instead of Hammill.

He has made changes along the way but he has more or less stuck to his guns re 4-3-3. Granted Ipswich was 4-4-2 from the start but that’s due to Moncur withdrawing from the XI and the squad at midday forcing a rethink.

Re Davies, Townsend and Walton. We’ve been awful in goal all season. I don’t see an issue here. Any other club would drop someone if they’re poor, the issue here is with our recruitment. Walton was excellent last night, for what it’s worth.

As for other changes. Well, how many people on here have slated Yiadom, Mills, Fryers, Moncur, Moore et al in recent weeks and months? Yet when Morais makes the change he’s criticised for wholesale changes.

I feel that he can’t win irrespective of his performance as head coach. I’m not averse to a coach being criticised or subsequently sacked but a lot of the criticism is hypocritical and often with the benefit of hindsight. If Morais goes then all the best to him but if people think that he’s the sole cause of our demise and that it’s all golden once he’s gone then they’re horribly mistaken.

Good post. How many times is the 'it's madness to do the same thing and expect different outcomes' been rolled out on this board? When JM has the nads and conviction to change things, in a stated effort to get a different outcome, he gets villified. The idea of having a squad is that you should be able to interchange players when needed.
All this assumes a decent squad. Now I don't happen to think JM is right for us in our circumstances but I do respect him for trying to spark something.
You then live or die by what happens. Personally, if you're doing the right thing but getting the wrong outcome, then carrying on doing it with a reasonable possibility of doing it better so you get a better outcome, is not necessarily madness - it depends on how long you have to get it right and the rate of progress. Making that call is tough.

Good post Mapplewell & I agree with every thing you have said , when they gave Jose the gig , my comments were that the board should be complimented for at least trying something different , if it paid off , great & if it failed , then at least they tried but it was a risk as opposed to employing a manager from the long list of candidates who regularly get sacked & move on to another job & many friends & fans who I spoke to agreed , however , now the appointment seems doomed to fail , the knives are out & Jose becomes the "Sacrificial Lamb " , the fans thirst for blood will be unquenchable but to me & I know its been done to death , the problem has not been the appointment of Jose , it is far more deep rooted than that & goes back to jan 17. I really do feel sorry for the lad , he will shoulder the blame , unfairly .
