All season I've read and heard that Davis is rubbish,Potts league one standard,Isgrove injury prone,Yids doesn't want to be here,Hammill past his best,Mills past it, Fryers/Pinillos not good enough,Bradshaw too slow/small etc etc you get my drift. The same people then are slating the manager.Hecky started the downfall with some of his signings and while Jose isn't totally blameless the players should take a good look in the mirror. If you haven't got the quality at least go down fighting and show some pride and respect for the supporters and the shirt.

Yes the signings Hecky made quite clear he wanted in a Radio Sheffield interview.

If you have toss, toss or ****** given to you as options you will still end up taking one of the tossers.

When everything was going well the head coach didn’t select the targets the spreadsheet did, now we’re crap the spreadsheet isn’t mentioned but it was hecky who targeted the players. James Cryne must be laughing at some how getting away with the blame for this mess.

I disagree Ted.It seems to me when certain players were doing well they were Pauls signings. When signings were doing poorly the spreadsheet (whatever that is ) gets blamed.

You may disagree but you are incorrect. The spreadsheet selects targets. They are presented to the manager. He cannot isolate targets himself. The manager can then scout further. He can reject or accept. He has no input in any targeting of players. In the traditional sense they are not ‘his’ players.

Hecky sat week after week late July & early August stating that we needed more all round midfielders & not the number 10’s we were signing & that he wanted 4 strikers to rotate between as in his favoured system he puts a high work load on the strikers & likes to be able to mix them up.

Instead he was left with just 2 natural central midfielders in Williams & Gardner & just 3 forwards in Bradshaw, Ugbo & Thiam. If people want to re-write history & pretend he was happy with our signings so everything can be blamed on ‘Judas’ then crack on but that’s not what me or many other fans heard week after week.

The **** up was having to make wholesale changes in one summer. ‘The plan’ works a lot better if you’re only adding 5 or 6 to a squad of 22 or so each year with 3/4ers of the squad been kept & a quarter been moved on who are either the current sellable assets or not seen as up to it.

Technically the person who is to blame is Patrick Cryne for not signing experienced players but I don’t blame him because he was dying of cancer & had the goal of selling the club. The clubs a lot less attractive to potential buyers if you’ve got for example Scowen, Watkins & Roberts all on 12k a week for 4 years on our attendances.

Much easier to buy players on low wages over 3 & 4 year contracts who new owners will look at & think ‘Barnsley will keep developing young players & we’ll be able to sell them on & make a profit’

We are in my opinion the victims of circumstance with us getting promoted earlier than expected & Patrick Cryne finding out he was dying of cancer.
