..... so won’t be at Brentford match.
    Yes I know it’s wimpish.
    But it’s also heartbreaking.

pull thiself together we have been relegated quite a few times, I know its not pleasant but that's the way it is. We will gain promotion again in the future and I dare say we will suffer relegation again in the future. That's life as a Barnsley fan.

I figured I've watched them hopelessly run about like dogs chasing an empty Greggs bag all season, so may as well make it one final time before not renewing next year. You **** reds.

Seen 5 promotions and 3 relegations since about 1974 so I suppose it’s been a fairly smooth ride over that period of time. So very disappointed with our impending relegation but not heartbroken

I want to be there on the day we go down.

The memory of it will make me more elated still when we bounce back, and we will in the end.

Way I always look at it, every season 3 go down 3 go up ect. Eventually it happens to everyone.

You apparently didn’t go from January last season, you said on here and on Tykes Mad that you’d packed in a couple of months ago yet still went and now this, the perennial flouncer.

Arguably except for Arsenal (100 years), Everton (64 years) and Liverpool (56 years). Even the likes of Manchester Utd and Spurs have been relegated within my lifetime.

Feel the same. If/when we go a goal down the atmosphere will turn toxic. Staying away.

Work stops me getting to most games, but day off tomorrow, so Oakwell it is. As always, if they put a shift in, they'll get my support.

This November will mark 40 years since my first game v Worksop Town.

Didn't see a relegation until the Premier league season 20 years later, but to be fair, sandwiched in between the Clark. Hunter and Wilson eras was a lot of nothingness, only punctuated by the odd cup run or local derby win.

At least during the last 20 years we've had as much to cheer as to bemoan. 3 play off finals, a FA cup semi and JPT final to offset 2 relegations.

If a 3rd relegation happens tomorrow, or against derby, I'll be angry because of what we've had achieved and then allowed us to be in this perilous position.

In another way I'll be relieved it's over and looking forward to next season and being one of the promotion favourites again.

We'll be a big fish in league one. We're not at this level, but there are several clubs in this league we should have at least parity with, we play one of them tomorrow.

When (not if) we do come back up, the owners work really starts.

Its fine by me , anyone who doesn"t want to get behind the lads then stay away , however , if things go wrong , I do not expect to be reading their angry posts on here after the match . Regarding YN , he stated on tykesmad at the end of the transfer window that he had done for the season & would review it in the summer

I’ll be there, I might get annoyed if they’re not putting a shift in, I’ll cheer if they score, I’ll despair when they do summat exceptionally *****.

I’ll be back in August. Most likely in league one.

Annoying, yes. Disappointing, yes. Heartbreaking? Belt up nudge. Big setback, but come on.
