    Hi new member here, been reading this forum for a while now and thought I'd get involved. Been a reds fan since I moved to West Melton in 1995 when I was a little nipper, my mum's fella at the time was a barnsley fan and started taking me games my first was away against West Brom 95-96 season we lost but I was hooked. Went nearly every game the promotion season but unfortunately my mum and I moved back to the Worksop area after the relationship broke down and I have only been to a handful of games since. The reasons for this are twofold one is the financial and logistical side of things ( I work weird hours and our lass works saturday afternoons so I have got to have the kids plus money's tight me being the main breadwinner) the other is I don't know a single barnsley fan round here I live in a village called langold don't know if any of you have been (we have have a big lake) but I'm surrounded by Wednesday, blunts and Forrest fans in fact my dad's side of family are all Wednesday fans so as you can imagine I get a lot of stick but I'm barnsley till I die. So not knowing anyone I rarely go games but I keep telling myself I'm gonna start going. Anyway I thought I'd join up here and get discussing my favourite team with like minded people who share a love for the mighty types so once again hi

    Glad you kept the faith it would be pretty easy to give up on your circumstances.
    I don’t bother going for a drink or owt before match nowadays especially as I take my grandkids but I’m sure they’ll be plenty that will invite you into their clique .
    There’s always plenty to get your teeth into on here as well.
    There’s politics. Racism , marriage guidance , law advice and sometimes if you look really hard the odd footy post lol

    Up until very recently I lived in Worksop, and now in the process of moving to Mansfield... Gis a shout and we'll see if we can share the driving to matches... Especially now I don't work every Saturday
