She acted as a shield for May and unfortunately it didn't work. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-43944988
Unfortunately? The only unfortunate thing is May is still PM. She was the real instigator of the policies on immigration Rudd was saddled with. But now the protection Rudd offered as the sacrificial goat is gone. Hopefully May will be next.
Howmuchsaid...." Labour the honest party ?Discussssssss " ! I am afraid having seen yet another 'car crash interview' this morning with Diane Abbott who is the Shadow Home secretary, it is!! Much as I dislike Piers Morgan, DA's repeated pathetic attempts to avoid a straight answer to his simple question (albeit a basic required 'skill' of politicians of all parties) highlighted that she and the Labour Party haven't a clue as to what their own policy on immigration is. It is clear to anyone that 'Windrush' has shown that May, Rudd and the current Government have shown a complete disregard for basic decency, humanity, honesty and behaved despicably with regard to the whole issue of immigration. Nevertheless, it seems Labour , or at least Dianne Abbott, whilst rightly lambasting the Government is totally hypocritical in not being capable of addressing an apparent contradiction in stating they do not support an amnesty but would not confirm they would therefore deport the estimated 1million illegal immigrants living in the UK in spite of being asked the same very simple question several times. Morgan even tried to throw her a 'lifeline ' by asking if she meant that 'overstayers' being victims of the 'inefficient Home Office' system failures and delays she kept referring to could be given amnesty. She did not grab it but simply tried to divert the topic back to Windrush and Govt failings which had already been covered in great detail. Whatever ones politics, surely no-one could accept that any party in Government could have Dianne Abbott as home secretary regardless of her past education and political background. She is an absolute liability.
I'm not an Abbott fan either, but at least Labour have been very clear about their plans to reverse the disgraceful May-era policy which splits up British children from their non-EU parents, sometimes for years at a time.
Good bye to bad rubbish. Time for Dis-May to go now. The architect of our racial hate lead government.
