Why Sheffield. What about the Barnsley district. I'll start - Rotherham Road through Great Houghton is like a third world road. I have to rebuild my car after every trip to Cortonwood.
I’m guessing because only Sheffield Council were dumb enough to sign a multi billion pound road maintenance contract with a bunch of cowboys? The roads are bad across South Yorkshire but Sheffield residents are paying a lot more for their pot holes. And don’t get me started on the tree felling...
Sheffeld as hed most of the roads resurfaced in past year or 3 .. No one in Sheff apart from a few green types seem to be bothered about them trees from what I hear..
A lot of the roads have been resurfaced - but badly. Basically the top inch or two of tarmac has been replaced and it looks great; for a few months.... Many of the ‘new’ roads are already crumbling and there are a lot of contractual disputes about the quality of the work that has been done. The most annoying thing about the tree thing is that it’s costing local taxpayers a fortune. If you were going to draft a contract to make you rich, you’d have done exactly what Amey has done to the Council. They must be rubbng their hands every time a protestor ties themselves to a tree.
Elm Lane/Southey Green Road from Sheffield Lane Top to Southey Green. I don't know why they bothered putting speed humps on it.
Our street was resurfaced 11 months since, water and gas boards have already dug it up at least 6 times... Don't know why they bothered
Holme Lane - where the tram tracks run. The lot needs digging up and re-doing, but if they do that, I can't see the tram lasting up that road. Seriously though Sheffield is pothole central.
From Killamarsh all the way along the mosborough bypass to the parkway is full of pot holes and with traffic doing 50mph it only has to be so long before somebody goes over one and smashes their suspension given the size and depth of some of them.
