Yep, I think he'd be my choice too. It's important we get someone who knows L1 & can identify signings early in the window.
Just pray it's not another foreign coach. Surely the Morais disaster will deter the owners from that......won't it....??

Where’s Wenger then, thought he would at least have made the top 5!

He doesn’t fit the criteria because a) he doesn’t know how to win games and b) he doesn’t know how to win games.

I’d never have him back after what he did

I dont want him back but his win record as a L1 / Div 3 manager is I believe the best in our history at that particular level. Better not to let bitterness cloud our judgement.

Agree on the first part I am expecting a unknown foreign appointment.

If Leeds were to get shut of Hecky now the season has needed I still wouldn't want him back. Without even getting into if he could do a job or not, it would simply split the fan base and be a very divisive appointment

That was with a championship squad. No way I’d ever entertain him. I want someone at the top with a bit about them who the fans can trust in. Not someone who’s telling us what we wanna hear. No doubt he’d just move on when another club offered him money.

You can’t seriously want him back?!

If Neil Warnock decided the Prem was going to be too much for him at his age then I'd have him here in a flash.

No I definitely don’t want him back but it’s still factually incorrect to say he has a poor win record at L1 level when the opposite is true.

Any manager would leave If a bigger club offered more prospects or money they would be stupid not to.

Absolutely no idea after our last appointment. I think we can throw that manager list out of the window.

What would anyone’s view be of a name who was a good player but hasn’t managed?

I’m thinking of someone like Lampard who held talks with Oxford.

It's a bit of a gamble because great players aren't often good managers but does have some benefits of attracting players, contacts within the game etc

Yep I'm expecting to be having to Google whoever it is to find out anything about them.
Can we make a better appointment this time? I dread to think what would be worse.
